We recently moved my Mom into a new home . Since we are still in the unpacking of boxes stage, not much of her china is even put away. The tablecloth fit perfectly and I used what was available to set a kind of frenchy/country table!
She bought the blue china when I was a little girl. I can't remember who made it, but I thought it would work well with her new lace tablecloth!
Another view.
I thought her little blue and white hen added a frenchy flair. Some candle sticks and black-eyed Susan's from her garden and were good to go!
I'm adding on to the following blog parties. Tablescape Thursday @ Between Naps on the Porch and Thrifty Thursday @ Tales from Bloggeritaville with our hostesses Susan and Leigh. Thanks ladies!!
Hey Cindy,
ReplyDeleteI'm at the airport in Phoenix on our way to Wisconsin!! SOOO excited to see my family. We're all home for my nieces wedding in Whitehall and reception in Eau Claire. Tell your husband that it's Ron & Deb's daughter Erica that's getting married. Looking forward to the change in weather... suppose to be 106 this weekend in Phoenix.
What a pretty table but you know I alwys favor the blue and white ones -- very very pretty! A pretty tablecloth as well.
ReplyDeleteAdorable... love the little piggy salt and pepper shakers! What a great find on the tablecloth!
ReplyDeleteCindy, I have the same set of dishes as your mother. They were the ones I picked out for our wedding in 1976 and my first kitchen was decorated in blue/white :) I got mine from the JC Penney's catalog and they are Nikko Ironstone. This is the first time I have seen a tablescape done with the same dishes and it sure was a smile inducer this morning. Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteLoving the yellow and blue combination. The lace tablecloth is an elegant touch...and a bargain!
ReplyDeleteOhhh...blue and white with touches of yellow really makes a statement!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
Living it up at Lakewood,
Cindy
The blue color in these photographs are beautiful. Some great shots.
ReplyDeleteYou hit it out of the ballpark again. You are a true blessing to your very lucky mama. Her new home is lovely.
ReplyDeleteNow let's talk about the elephant in the room. Wow, that spinning wheel is fantastic. Is it authentic? What a treasure to have.
Enjoy your day and God bless!!!
Cindy...great job....love the table cloth...it really added to the table
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Cindy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this morning. I so love the tablecloth on your Moms table. Her place settings are just gorgeous, and I so love the black eyed Susans from her garden. This table setting with the ladder back chairs has such a frech flair. I love it. I also love her spinning wheel. What a perfect finish to this dining room. Unlike Linda above I will be in the 106 degree weather this weekend. My vacation will not start until Sept. 30th but I am so looking forward to it. Country hugs sweetie, Sherry
Hey, you changed your header! How long have I been brain dead? If you tell me something like two weeks, I'll cry!
ReplyDeleteHow very fun that you can go play at your Mom's. I Used to do tht all the time. Just show up and say "Come on - we're going shopping!" and then have a marvelous day. She'd complain and say "Karen, you sure can spend your Man's money." and I'd say "Yup, and he tells me I do a great job of it, especially on you." Golly, we had more fun!
Enjoy her!!!!
And thanks for sharing her little nest with the rest of us.
Have a great day!
Hello Cindy,
ReplyDeleteYou and your Mother did a great job with the tablescape, and to find such a bargain for 1.99, WOW. The blue piggy salt and pepper set is sooo cute, and love the dishes too, aren't you glad she kept them, so when you see them you have such wonderful memories .
I couldn't help but notice the spinning wheel in the background, just adore it, and the hutch loved it too. I know you and your mother will have a great time getting everything all set up in her new home; my mother moved a few years ago and we helped her get settled in and had such wonderful time together.
Have a great day.
Sue
Beautiful job, Cindy!! How did your mom like it?? I love her dishes and all her beautiful blue and white pieces as the centerpiece vignette. I also adore those ladder back chairs. I always wanted a table with those and we ended up with windsor (at the lake).
ReplyDeleteThe lace tablecloth is stunning!! Have you decided where you will use it or is mom going to talk you into letting her keep it? lol!!
Have a great weekend, Cindy!
xoxo

Anyway...I am here now. Thank you for linking up to my Thirfty Thursday sweet friend! I am so appreciative!
