Total cost for wreath and ornament about $4.50.
Sorry for the glare here, but we actually had a sunny day!
I felt like a mole coming out for a peak, it's been so dark and gloomy here.
Usually when I pull my old sled out of the shed it snows shortly after. Not this year, we are as brown and dry as can be. Here I have my old sled, adorned with skates and a swag I purchased cheaply after Christmas last year. A fresh wreath is on the door and fresh balsam boughs fill the old coffee pot.
The pine cone wreath was brown for many years.
But then I got my copy of the November Midwest Living.
And I thought, well that is simple enough!
Some ribbon, a candy-cane pic and some fresh boughs.
And that's my copycat!!
Enjoy your weekend everyone! I just found out that my son, wife and grand-baby are going to be able to fly home for Christmas! I am so so thrilled!

I love the sled, Cindy. I've been on the hunt for small, old ice skates for quite a while--you're lucky to have them, because they're such a nice touch. Your whole corner looks very, very pretty. Please stop by and visit! :) ~Zuni
ReplyDeleteGreat front porch arrangement - a sled and ice skates. Can't beat that. I have the ice skates. Still looking for the sled.
ReplyDeleteI wish I knew the Spray-Your-Old-Pinecone-Wreath-Red trick a few years ago. I threw out a pinecone wreath that had a great deal of sentimental value.
Hi Cindy! Your porch is gorgeous. I love your sweet sled and your copy cat wreath looks wonderful. Spray paint is great in't it?
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

ReplyDeleteI loved that red wreath when I first saw it on the cover if my magazine. Your version is equally as pretty, Cindy! Your porch looks so festive. Are you really wanting snow? LOL I would be happy if we have another southern winter here in Ohio again this season! :-) Sue
ReplyDeleteI love snow when it's cold and especially before Christmas. Come February, not so much.
DeleteI am over the mooned thrilled for you that your son and family gets to come home. I would give anything if ours could come home for the holidays. Love your red wreath and the decorated sled. It's so welcoming. :) I remember back in the 70's when the ladies in my neighborhood got together and made pinecone wreaths. How I wish I still had mine. :) xo
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your Mom's stroke, I pray she has a complete recovery. Your Granddaughter is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of painting the pinecones red. I usually glitter mine because they are so brown and dull otherwise, although I have also painted them gold. The wreath is so bright and cheery now! Linda
