Met. Monday, Blue Monday, A start to the Guest Room.

I need to get packing for my trip to AZ but I just wanted to share with you our guest room progress so far.  This is how it looked when we moved in two years ago.  Not too pretty.  It would become my step-son Jacobs room so we replaced the carpet and painted it to look like this.

A total disaster pic before I started to paint but you can see the colors that were in this room. I didn't mind the colors for a boy's room, but since Jacob has his own pad now it was time to make it a guest room.

The after:  We painted the room a color called lemonade slush.  It required a coat of primer first and then a coat and  then some touching up because the before colors were quite dark  The brass headboard was painted a cottage white and I shared that in last weeks Met. Monday.  This is just a little preview as I have lot's more decorating, fluffing and arranging to do but I thought it might be ok to share our progress so far.

I took these pics at night so the color appears a little stronger than it is.  I am looking forward to getting the rest in order and then I can share more pics.  Thanks for stopping and please visit our hostesses Susan and Sally  for some fabulous inspirational ideas.  Have a great Monday too.  Cindy

He absolutely freaked when he saw it and yelled, "what have you done with MY room." Heeeeheeehe, not HIS room to keep. Ya'll did a great job, I can't wait to see more.

  35. I have so missed visiting everyone and here I am at nearly 2am, determined to visit as many as I can. A pain pill does wonders! Isn't it wonderful what a bit of paint can do? My daughter and her husband just offered to do our entire interior and I am so delighted. (I think they feel sorry for me!) :) Whatever the case..I cannot wait.
The room is looking wonderful and I love your bright colors! SO cheerful!
I will be working with red...and to be honest..I am a wee worried!
I hope your Fall is going beautifully!

Thanks for the visit. Hope to see you again. I plan to post for TT tomorrow and again on Friday and Saturday. I was out of town last week and didn't get to share more of my Halloween, so will try to get my act together to post before Halloween is over for the year.

Hope you have a grand time in AZ. I'm envious of your lunch with the group. Take photos and share in a post. ~ Sarah

  43. Oh Cindy!
How beautiful is this room. I so love the colors and the quilt is exquisite. I love quilts. Every time I see one on sale, or clearanced, it ends up coming home with me. Tony says we will never be cold in this house. We have enough quilts for everyone on the block.

I too am looking forward to seeing you. I finished my craft and have my little package all wrapped up and ready to go. See ya @ Gooseberries for tea. Country hugs and love, Sherry

  44. Love that quilt, girl. I may have even commented on it twice. I know I was by before but hubby was pestering me and you've got so many comments I can't see if I got one in or not! I'm having my Fall Frenzy giveaway ~ do you believe in lightening striking twice? You might as well give it a shot, it's full of red!

  45. Hi Cindy!
I am so sorry I did not get to say good-bye to you today. When I came out of the store, I couldn't find you all. You had simply vanished. I looked all over the parking lot. I am so sorry I couldn't hug you good-bye. It was wonderful to meet you, and get to visit with you. What a delight it was? Loved that accent, as you mine. Thank you for sharing your time today. It was such a delightful luncheon. Please keep in touch sweetie. Country hugs, Sherry
