An Icy Winter Mantel

About the 2nd week of January, I start to get sick of winter.  But of course we still have a long way to go around these parts and I might as well embrace it.
So with that thought in mind, I bring you my winter mantel.
Nothing fancy but I do like the rustic look with our stone fireplace.
The only new item is the Thomas Kincaid print I found for $7 at Wally World.  Originally $29, I think $7 is more like it.

Icy trees and pine cones.
White candles and old wooden spools.

A cake platter with a jar of frosty and pine cone candles.

And of course my child size double blade skates.
Now to try to embrace the rest of winter.

  1. Omg, I LOVE your winter mantel Cindy!
I've been looking for a pair of child-size skates for years to decorate. How fun to have your daughter's skates!
And that print is so perfect.

  2. What a perfect Winter mantle!

And what a perfect way to move seamlessly, from the sparkle of Christmas decorations, to something also lovely. And by-pass that "empty" look. When all of Christmas is down and put away. :-)

  4. Even though we don't get winter, per se, here, I too start getting tired of our dreary, rainy, foggy weather around the same time. I like leaving up my poinsettias through January as their color brightens things up and our house doesn't look as stark after Christmas.

Your mantle looks so nice and I love the touches of snow. Lovely!

    Hugs! Eileen

  5. Like the skates on the mantle! I have mine on the sled out front, children skates too.
Already thinking about when will first dafodil rise up and I know spring is here?

  6. Great job on your Winter vignette. I think they said we would get up to 70 on Saturday - not good, because every year we have a warm spell early Jan. Winter hits hard.
Thanks for stopping by and nice comment on the necklaces.

  13. Happy New Year Cindy! I love your fireplace! I just returned home from our trip out west so all my Christmas is still up. I think I will leave a few wintery vignettes around to enjoy for the winter months too. Have a wonderful day and thanks for sharing with us.

  16. I do not envy you for a minute....I could stand winter for maybe a week or two...that's it...just long enough to wear a pair of boots and a sweater or two and then back to croc flip flops and my madras shorts.....I always love seeing pictures of your beautiful stone fireplace....
