The only patriotic plates I own are these vintage Liberty Blue dinner plates.
And when I saw this material at Jo Anne's Fabric store, I thought it would be the perfect fit!
So I purchased a yard at 50% off and made 4 napkins with it. My cost for the 4 napkins is under $5.
Not wanting to cover up the design I just decided to fold them and place them right on top of the dinner plate.
I made the table-runner from a little left over fabric that I recently used for a pillow. The white votive holder is a recent purchase.
A runner and napkins were my inspiration!
My tip: If your unable to spend a lot on pretty tables, (like me) making your own napkins and runners can personalize your table and change the look for just a wee bit of moola.
I have been on full-time babysitting duties this week but I will be back soon to share a post.
Thanks for stopping by,
Cindy

Hi, Cindy! You totally hit pay dirt when you found that great fabric!!! It's SO cool! For some reason it reminds me of "Little Women". How weird am I? :-) I so admire people who are able to sew whatever they want! It would make my life so much easier as well as save "a wee bit of moola"! Very nice! Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh Cindy, I love your table. Your napkins are fabulous, great fabric and the plates are beautiful. I so rarely see that pattern, but it is my favorite. Beautiful runner and flowers too. So glad you guys got to visit with "Blonde". I know you had a great time. It is sooooooooo hot here, but at least we don't have the humidity. Sorry to hear it is so hot there too, hopefully it will cool down some. Hugs,Marty

ReplyDeleteBeautiful Cindy! I love your handmade napkins. They are so wonderful. I need to get on over to the fabric store to get some 4th of July fabric to make some for next year. That was the one thing I did not find that I liked to add in this year so I'm sure I'll have better luck making them myself like you did. I love your runner too. Your setting is so pretty and looks really pretty against the white of your table. Happy 4th to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those napkins! I was eyeing the plate and then scrolled down to the next photo and I'm thinking "Where did you find those lovely vintage napkins?" Imagine my surprise when you said you got the fabric at Joanne's! We have a Joanne's nearby so guess where I'm going? :) I think a table with handmade items is truly special. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOh Cindy, I LOVE that fabric too! Those napkins add such a special touch to this table. Your floral centerpiece is so festive. The napkins just stole my heart. Now, if I could just make myself do some sewing. I've never been any good at it, and I'm not even sure where my sewing machine is stashed! Have a wonderful time babysitting. laurie
ReplyDeleteCute table, Cindy. That fabric is perfect for the napkins. (I didn't see that at Joanne's :) and the Cracker Jack box just adds the finishing touch.

ReplyDeleteCindy, I love the fabric that you used for the napkins! So pretty a place setting, with that classic plate pattern. Sure wish there were still good prizes in the Cracker Jack boxes like when I was a kid. Those things are so cheesy and cheap these days! LOL :-) Sue
