This is the wall quilt my Mother-in-law made for me. It's mostly blue but also has my other favorite color yellow. My Mother-in-law is quite the accomplished quilter and has made hundreds of them for many lucky recipients. She is a very kind and generous lady! Now go visit some other Blue Monday posts. Cindy

  20. Very pretty. I love quilts. I tried to make one of those 'weekend quilts' that you sew together on the sewing machine and finish it in a weekend. Well....after several months had gone by....and I was still working on it....I gave up. :-)

  22. Hi Cindy at Applestone! I love the look of blue and yellow together. Quilting is a very desirable talent. It is highly desirable to have someone close make a quilt for a gift. You are fortunate.

  27. How lucky to have a quilt made by a family member. So much work goes into them. I have made just one..yes..just one. Took a quilting class...and I chose to make one to fit my KING size bed..to the floor. I worked and worked. My eyes went bad finally..and one day I bundled it up..and drove it to a nearby church and the ladies finished it in the basement. It was SO big..(to the floor AND over the pillows..that it took them over a year to finish it. Yep...and it is in my bedroom lovingly packed away with my mementos of Pat. He loved that quilt.. :) I learned...and never forgot how much work goes into quilt making. My hat is off to those that quilt and to those who have and cherish them. Thanks for sharing..your lovely quilt on this Blue Monday!
    Love,
    Mona

  32. What a beautiful quilt! I tried quilting when I was younger and just didn't have the time. I fear by the time I retire and have time, I won't have the eyesight! LOL! I really admire folks who do quilt. Since I made a few, I REALLY appreciate all the work that goes into them. Yours is a real keepsake! :D Jewel
