My new Hubby built table!

Hi to all my wonderful blogger friends. I hope you all had a lovely Memorial Week-end. We were fortunate to have great weather with lot's of sunshine and highs in the 70's. TA DA!! The lovely little table that hubby recently built for me. I was so thrilled with how it turned out. I wanted something to fit in a lonely little hall corner. I found a pic on the Internet and he went to work. The table is built out of pine and he used cherry for the top. I love cherry when it's not stained too dark, it has such a rich look to it.

Here is the top view with my recent yard sale lamp purchase.

And here, fitting so perfectly in my lonely little corner. The walls here are painted a sage green and he used a hunter green for a nice contrast on the table. We just bought some simple little white knobs for more contrast and a cottagy feel.

And last I wish that our computers had a scratch and sniff button. The lilacs are blooming heavily and I have every vase in my house filled with them. We have the dark purple and light purple varieties and I love to mix them together. It's too bad they couldn't last all summer long. Thanks for coming to see my cute little table built with love by hubby. Cindy

  1. Cindy, your husband does the most beautiful woodworking! I love this little table -- so sweet. Love the natural cherry top and the painted frame -- just perfect!

Scratch and sniff on computers? Hahahaha... that would be great for flowers, and for recipes too!

  3. Hi Cindy, I agree with Chandy... can I borrow him next? LOL

What a beautiful small table. It fits perfectly and I love the color! I also love Cherry wood. (:

Ah Lilacs... When we lived in Oregon I had Lilacs everywhere. The scent is beyond this world. I loved your photos. I could almost smell it. But now that I live by the beach... lilacs don't really grow well here, and the hybrids that do... they have very little scent.

  6. Oh Cindy I can't even imagine saying I would like a piece of furniture and have my hubby build it for me. You are so lucky girl! The table is perfect in that corner and the lamp is gorgeous too! Lilacs are heavenly! Can they be dried like hydrangea? Maybe they won't smell as pretty but you could enjoy them for a little longer. Hugs, Loretta

  8. Cindy, your husband is so talented. I love the things that he does (that you show us). Really love the cherry wood top on the table - so nice! I have a handy hubby, too. He has made built-ins for us, ceiling beams, gates for the deck, installed beadboard and extra crown moulding, and lots of fixing up. But ultimately he would like to build furniture. He has done the greatest things with a 30 year old radial arm saw, but would love to have a table saw and another one, I forget. Does your husband have a shop at home, or does he just do things at the school shop? How wonderful to have that accessible at any rate! I keep telling my hubby to go buy a thing-a-ma-gig at the Depot for a birthday present, but he keeps stalling (either too thrifty, or else he's afraid what I might ask him to build! - I mean, is it too much to ask him to build a baby grand piano case?!) Sorry this is so long, but we share the blessing of handy hubbies and I always enjoy seeing what Mr. Applestone is up to! Linda p.s. The flowers smell so good!

I love it...love that beautiful wood grain of the cherry top...you're right, it's gorgeous! And I love that you painted it green...it looks perfect for that corner!!!

Girl, how blessed you are to have such a talented honey!!! I'm tellin' ya...I'm so green with envy as I'm sure each and everyone of us gals are...to be able to just give your sweet and talented husband a picture of a piece of furniture and have him make it for you!!! That is soooo awesome!!! Ohhh...if I lived closer...I would give you a "run for your money" for keeping your husband busy making me some furniture! Hehe!!!

Your thrift store treasure find...that gorgeous little lamp is a perfect style and fit for your new table...I love it!!! Girl, I'm just so happy for you!!! You have so many pretty things and such a beautiful home!!!

Glad to hear that you had a nice holiday weekend! Sounds like your weather was really nice! Oh yes, and by the way...what a fabulous bouquet of lilacs...it's soooo pretty, my friend! It has been cool here and rainy (which is very unusual since we live in such an arid climate) but it's nice and everything is so lush and green!!! It's supposed to remain cool (in the 60's) with rain for the rest of the week.

Well Darlin'...I hope that you're having a terrific Tuesday...I loved seeing your new little table!!! Lucky girl!!!

    Love ya,
    Chari
