Snowy Red and Winter White table.

I seem to have a thing for red and white right now.  Maybe it's because I am surrounded by so much white snow that I crave the bright and cheery reds!
On top of my old pie hutch is a collection of whites, a little red apple lamp and a few wintry looking bottle brush trees.  I also have the old antique coffee grinder that was passed down to me many years ago

Today my table is dressed in a red and white snow flake tablecloth.  I decided to keep the table simple so as not to look too Christmas like.

It's been dark and dreary today.  However it has snowed quite a bit and I think I prefer that to the bare ground we had before.  I will complain about it but when spring rolls around, I will appreciate it even more.

A simple white pitcher, red berries and a little snowman and little girl dressed for the winter weather.

Simple white plates and napkins, my dollar tree snowflake glasses and that pretty much rounds it out.

I wish I had a better camera ( it's on my wish list) but as you can see it's very snowy outside that window! It is pretty but I wasn't none too happy with the snow plow guy when I started sliding backwards down the big hill before our house.  Just a little more sand please!  I had Addison with me and I don't care to be walking with a toddler in tow.
Ahhh January!  It's probably my least favorite month of the year but I am trying to enjoy it.
Now I am joining Marty @ A Stroll thru Life for her 100th Table Top blog party.  Congrats to my friend Marty!  Be sure to check it out!

Red and White Winter Mantel and a Mantel Clock Winner!

Hi Friends,
While planning a winter mantel I knew that I wanted it bright and cheery.
Our winters are long and often dreary so the brighter the better.
On top of that, my stone fireplace is dark which also makes it hard to take good pics.
First I pulled out the little double runner skates which are waiting for my grand-daughter Addison when she is about 3.
Everything on my mantel are things I already had except for the wreath which was clearances for $4.00 and the white berries which were also clearances for $2.00.
So for a total of $6.00 I got a new look that will tide me over at least for awhile.

I like my white birdhouse with the pops of red!
And I do declare that cardinals are my favorite birds!
Especially in the winter, next to the white snow!
And speaking of snow, we have a good bit now and our warm spring like temps are gone.

So I need a little cheering up to make it through a long Wisconsin winter!
A red berry garland, blue vase and few nubby red apples.
We actually have a few apples left on our trees that have frozen and now have a very strange earthy look to them.

Adding my white birdhouse lamp also make it brighter and cheerier in here.

The finished look!
There is one more thing though.  I would like to find a small pair of louvered white shutters to put up there.  The used ones I am finding are as expensive as buying new so I am thinking of asking hubby to make me a pair!
Now on to the give-away!
Thank-you all who came by and left comments and well wishes on my blog anniversary.
I have been trying to get by and say hi to all of you but I am unable to comment on some of your blogs.
Just another blogger issue to deal with I guess...but I will keep trying!

And the winner is.....
my fellow Wisconsinite Miss Keetha!
I used the number thingy ma-jiggy and number 7 was the lucky one!
Congrats Keetha!
Heck I may just have to deliver this to her myself!
hehe.
Keetha has a fun blog, The Eclectic Company  and she is always quite the character, go say hi when you can!
And thanks again for all you support and well wishes!

Looking Back...Looking Ahead...Blogging Anniversary/Give-away!

It's time to party!
And to celebrate my 3 year blogging anniversary I am giving away this beautiful mantel clock!
My hubby's entrepreneurship class builds these and then sales them for a small profit.
I thought something handmade would be the perfect fit !
Now I still can't believe its been 3 years and that I've stuck with it.
I decided to make some mosaic's to highlight some of my posts from this past year.  It's always fun to look back, a journal of sorts.

Right now we have no snow and that's unusual for us.
In fact we hit 50 degrees last week in January, in Wisconsin, amazing!

Christmas 2011
Celebrating what is really important in life!

I still find it hard to believe that I've been blogging for this long!
I followed others over from RMS and thought I would give it a whirl.
I never even expected to find a comment on my blog let alone find someone to follow along with me!
I've made some amazing friendships along the way and I've been fortunate to have met so many of these gals and some of their hubbies too in real life!
When I go to Arizona I feel like I have a whole gang of gals to meet up with!
Golly I love it!
And hubby and I get together with Jane and Al on a regular basis...and boy do we have fun together!

So please help me celebrate by entering my give-away!
Just leave me a comment if your a follower or would like to become one!
And for a 2nd chance to win put a little post on your side-bar and come back and let me know.
I will draw a winner next Sunday!

Have a wonderful week and know how much I appreciate each and everyone of you!

Our New Year's Eve and go Bucky go!

Go Badgers!  What can I say, Wisconsin has some darn good football!  The Packers and the Badgers are working hard to make my hubby one happy camper!
We love our Badgers!  My son and dil both graduated from UW Madison and I attended there briefly before going back home getting married way too young!

And we had the best New Years Eve with one of our favorite gals!  We attended a family New Years Eve party and it was such a treat to see little Addison dancing to the bands, playing dress-up and getting excited when the little girl dancers performed!
And we can't forget our fine dining at Mc-D's!
Anyhoo it made this Grandma and Grandpa quite happy!
I am working on some major resolutions for this year and I am inspired by all of yours.  Keep them coming and happy belated New Years!
Cindy
P.S.   Sadly the Badgers lost...congrats to the Ducks.  My hubby hurried up and turned the tv so he wouldn't get more depressed.  Oh poor guy, it doesn't quite affect me like that.
