Thrifty Thursday and some Great Give-away Wins!

Hi all.
I want to share with you today some of my great give-away wins from recent months and a few cool thrifty treasures.  (Well to me anyway)
I was the lucky winner of a $25 gift certificate to T.J. Maxx  from Tracy @ Ms. Bake-it.
It took me forever to decide, probably because it was a freebie.
I had planned on getting an outdoor item but everything I had previously wanted was gone.
But then, I saw this cute little cottage.   I just love it and it has a place for a little tea candle inside.
And.......since I had money left over.........................

I bought this cute little black summer top.  I love it!  Thanks Tracy!
You helped my summer wardrobe and it needed help!

Today, this cute little metal tray with the rooster motif was in my mail.
Dawn @ Cottage State of Mind had a give-away.   And here's the kicker!  When the give-away was over, she announced that she was sending everyone who entered a gift!  Now how cool and how generous is that!
Thanks Dawn!
The little tray is just so charming.

And on to a give-away I won way back in February.  It just has taken me a long time to figure out how I wanted to do it.  You see, I won a Blog Book from Lori @  Family Trees May contain Nuts.
I had it kind of worked out and then I had my emergency gall bladder surgery and recovery.
So recently, I went back to the site and reworked it.

And here are a few pages to give you an idea to how it looks.

It's pretty darn cool!   Thanks Lori!

And now to a few thrifty treasures!
This old chair was only a buck at an auction.  I spray painted it apple green and I love the look!   And if it sits outside and gets more weathered who cares, it was only a buck!

And I found this old metal doll house popular in the 1950's and 60's at a garage sale for $5!
It needs a little rehab but I think it would be fun to look for the old plastic doll furniture that was popular then.

Have a great 4th of July Everyone!

  8. I'm glad you like the tray Cindy, I have a round one that coordinates with it. Your little lemon cottage is so cute. I've thought about the blog books. It seems like a great way to preserve some of what we've blogged just in case....! Have a happy 4th!

  10. Cindy, you look wonderful in that pretty summer top! What a very lovely lady you are ... inside AND out!

Love all your "wins" and finds -- the apple green chair is darling -- AND today while thrifting, Annie spotted a tiny dollhouse "potty" -- one of those old-fashioned ones with the tank above the bowl. If you want a toilet in your doll house (if you put middle-aged lady dolls in there you will need one!) -- just let me know!

    Best ... Cass

  11. Congratulations on your nice wins! Like you new black top!
I am trying to decide if I want to do one of the books or not.

  19. Good Morning Cindy Sweetie...
What a beautiful post today. I love your little cottage. The lemon sliced rooftop is just precious. TJ Maxx has the most wonderful items to select from, and what a bonus, enough left over for a black number. Got to love that. You look so precious sweetie.

That rooster tray is so delightful. How wonderful that Dawn could send everyone a little something. It fits perfectly into your cottage. So country.

The blog book I adore. Now that I have celebrated my year, I too would love to have a hardback book made of my blog. I could reflect back on how I have grown. Your's looks beautiful. Thank you for sharing. I love it.

Have a beautiful 4th sweetie. I am still under lockdown for another week. I go back July 9th and am hoping he will release me back into the real world again. Tomorrow is my ear, nose and throat appointment. They will check out the hoarseness. I think it is just from all the coughing but we shall see.

Many hugs sweetie and so much love...Sherry

P.S. When are you making another trip to Phoenix? I hope to spend a little more time with you this trip.

  20. Yea for all of your wins and goodies! Aren't bloggers the best??? Loved what you got. And what neat finds there, Cindy. You got some cool things.

Sending you warm hugs and all good wishes for a Happy Fourth!

    Sheila :-)

  22. I love your new black top Cindy! It looks great on you! Your new Lemon Cottage tea candle holder is adorable! The doll house brought back a lot of memories! I have seen some of the blog books and I think I may have one done of my family blog (private) and give it to my parents for Christmas this year. Your book looks great! I love old wooden chairs and used to have quite a collection but when I downsized I had to let them go. I love your new chair and its wonderful bright summer color! It makes me want to run out and see if I can find some for that price!

    ~ Tracy

  23. Cindy!! Wow...this was a great day to visit you, but then every day is! I just don't get over here.
You have won some lovely giveaways. And..yes, our Dawn is a special girl! It felt so good to give her a big hug.
And the book! I have tried and tried to get one done and I just ran into snags. One ended up costing over two hundred dollars. Can you write to me, if you don't mind, and tell me how you did it? They said mine was too long or something. Can you imagine such a silly thing? :)
And the doll house. I have been searching for one of those for a long time too..
I have looked on ebay and those are pricy...so I will just keep looking.
    I loved this post!!
Sending you love and a huge hug!

  26. Cindy, you are a lucky girl. Congratulations on your prize winnings. You look so cute in your new top. I'm trying to remember what else you posted. I was so blown away by your last bargain that I can't even remember the rest of your post! I had a metal doll house when I was a child, and I often price them at stores, and those things are EXPENSIVE! You could probably sell that and make a huge profit. It is so cute though, and it will be fun to decorate it. What a lucky find. Oh! Now I remember, your blog book looks so pretty. What a neat giveaway. Hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend. laurie

    Sheila :-)

  36. Hey! Just watched the fireworks display from the house. Had a great view, and I thought the finale was going to shake it to its foundations! The windows were actually rattling! LOL! I don't know why it shocks me every year, but somehow I manage to "forget" and it never ceases to amaze me! ;-)

    Sheila :-)

  37. Hi Cindy! I just saw that dollhouse and it brought back so many memories--I had forgotten about the one I shared with my sisters! It was almost just like that one--from the early to mid 60's--now you have gotten me into trouble because I am going to be on the hunt for one!!! Have a great day. Linda

  38. Kudos to Mr. Dan! Our building trades class at the Vo-Tech does the same thing each year allowing the house to become larger the next year.

Cindy, you have a wonderful vacation. Thanks so much for checkin' in. I'm sad to say I'm still havin' problems. I really pushed myself for our big Fourth of July bash here on the Ponderosa and Monday Hubby counted eleven new shingle blisters on my back. I had to laugh when he said they were aligned like the big dipper! Heeehehhe! He has ordered me to do nothing more strenuous than takin' a dip in my pool. Ya know I don't sit still well but I'm gonna take it easy and try to heal up. It's been over two months now and it's gettin' real old!

You take care and have the best time sweetie! :o)

  39. Hi Cindy,
The metal dollhouse on your blog is exactly like the one my sisters and I used to play with in the mid '60s. It takes me back. Way back!
If you ever want to sell that dollhouse you have a buyer here.
    Thanks for posting.

  40. Hi Cindy,
Thanks for posting the metal dollhouse. It is EXACTLY like the one my sisters and I used to play with in the 60s. It takes me back.
If you ever want to sell, I am interested.
