Tablescape Thursday/Trash to Treasure/Wishing for Hydrangeas

Welcome to Tablescape Thursday with our hostess Susan and

Thrifty Thursday, with our hostess Leigh. My tablescape today is a mixture of Trash and Treasure so I thought why not do both! You can visit Susan @ http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/ and you can visit Leigh @ http://www.lbratina.blogspot.com/ for more great posts.

I'm setting my table (it's lunch today with my teen-age daughter and her friend) with my Goodwill Tablecloth. It's a sage green and only cost a 1.99. I made a topper from lilac gingham using 1 yard of fabric(2.50/a yard) and some rickrack I found on clearance @ .10 a pack. The sun is streaming in,so maybe it will be a nice day.

A slightly different view.

I found my Hydrangea dishes at K-mart. They were on clearance and only $16.00 for the 20 piece set. When I got to check-out, they said they had been mistakenly marked down but they would give me the price anyway. I went back later and they were marked $29.00, but that's still a pretty good buy.

A view of the dinner plate and my mismatched silver ware. I found a bag at an estate sale for $3 and they had everything except salad forks.

Here's the cute little salad plates. I love hydrangeas and since it doesn't seem like we will be getting any of them in Wisconsin (at least anytime soon) I will have to settle for my little plates.

The cute little cups and saucers.

My dollar tree glassware. $1.00 each.

A table setting view. My big pitcher had a little baby that looks just like her.

My unmatched silverware and the napkins my Mom found for me at another Thrift shop. There are 8 of them and they have these cute little flowers embroidered on them.

A finished view and it's time for lunch with the young gals. No annoying boyfriends are allowed today- (Just kidding Katie).

OOPS, this might be the same view. Now head on over and check out some other great posts! Cindy

  1. Cindy,

Very sweet tablescape! How nice to have lunch with Katie and fuss with it a little~I'll bet she enjoyed it. :-)

I love your K~mart dishes! I haven't been there in ages and I should go, I always loved their bath selection. Along came Target and I got hooked!

I think your silver is very pretty. It's very cool when they sell them in bags as opposed to the whole set in the case. I like the variety and you may get lucky with something well made. ;-)

And finally, the little bunny is adorable. I didn't see the baby bunny that matches and I zoomed in and searched.

    Happy TT. Beautiful!

    xoxo

  29. Cindy, Everything looks precious! What a delightful table to have lunch on the porch. So wonderful to have those dishes for only $16...I love hydrangeas too...they remind me of my friend Kathleen, of Kathleen Ellis Life Style Designs. They are her favorite flower and are all throughout her home at any time of the year. The entire tablescape you did shows how much you love and enjoy doing this. Your tabletopper out of the gingham was my favorite item! Loved the colorful rickrack you trimmed it in! ;) Be Blessed...~CC Catherine
