A little spray paint will do wonders! This was ugly old brass, (no before)
A cheap little wall sconce.
All spiffed up, I just need to find a candle.
When Hubby re-did our garage doors last summer, (my first Met Monday post) he just spray painted the old lights black to save a bit. I liked it, but wanted something a bit more substantial.

ReplyDeleteHi Cindy. I just got off a website called Wisconsin Gardening Online and according to them April is the month to start planting pansies in your area too!!! It said they can withstand frost, freezing temps, and even snow. Yay! Such sweet little flowers. So roll up your sleeves sister and start planting. For me, gardening is therapy. I love what you did with the candle holders. Did you have to prep the brass before painting by sanding or priming first? I have always avoided anything brass at garage sales or flea markets thinking that they could not be painted. Yours look great and so do the new lights outside. And what a bargain!!! Have a great day! Hugs, Loretta

Hello Cindy my friend! I LOVE those exterior lights; that must have been some amazing sale to get them for that price! Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteIs that "Heirloom White" you used to paint the old brass? I bought a spray can of that to experiment and as soon as the weather is warm enough and the winds here die down, I'll be unstoppable!

ReplyDeleteLove what you did to your finds. I love the porch lights too- wish that is all it would take to make the front of our house look as pretty but I am afraid it will take a lot more than that!!
I have a question about your garage doors- are they actual carraige type doors or did you find a place that sells the hinges? I would love to know your source if you would share it!
