Off to meet Blondie! Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

How's this for a view!!
This was what I got to wake up to last December when we were in Galena, Illinois meeting Janie and Al.
If you would like to read about that trip just click here.
Well I've been thinking about our lack of snow this year and how my pictures won't be as pretty!
You see this weekend we're meeting Jane (aka)  Blondie's Journal and  her hubby Al in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
Another picture- postcard pretty little town!

Well ha ha ha ha!
I guess the joke's on me!
The weatherman is predicting a major winter storm will be moving into our area late on Friday into Saturday.
3-8 " or more!
Oh and by the way, this is my road after a storm last year.
And yes I have to drive up this baby every single day!
It's gorgeous!  But I have slid back-wards on more than one occasion.
It's a bit scary but you tend to get used to it around here.
Lucky for me the traffic is pretty light.

Another view of our road after a snowfall last winter.
Well I told Jane and my hubby that we would make it to Lake Geneva even if there's a blizzard going on.
I was kind of kidding but now not so much.
I'll keep you updated!
I'm off to work and then I need to pack cause.....
I'm going to Lake Geneva in a blizzard!!
Cindy

  1. Boy does that road bring back memories. I should get those photos out of our lane on the farm and post them sometime.

When the kids were young and their dad and I were still married, we lived in a home high atop a hill. In fact the second highest hill in the county. One Christmas I baked all sorts of bread to take to g'ma's house. We left early in the morning after a big overnight snow. We backed to the back of the garage and took a run down the hill and made it! That's when I discovered the big box of bread was sitting on the kitchen table! No way was that car going back up the hill..so I trudged back up, got the bread and we were on our way to g'ma's. That hill was so infamous, for many years the school superintendent called us to see how the hill was, before he decided on school closing.;-) Almost 40 years later, the kids' dad still lives in that house atop that hill.

Have fun in WI, this weekend! We never have got over to Galena IL. We really need to make the effort. It isn't that far from home!

  2. Cindy:

Thanks so much for your visit and kind comments.

Such glorious photos. Was that first photo of a private home in Galena, Illinois? It looks so idyllic, almost not real. I actually thought it looked like you were in Europe.

Can't wait to see the photos from this year's travels. Perhaps you could share them on Seasonal Sundays?

  26. Your pictures reminded me of when I was young. The roads would close around here if it snowed and we would all get out and walk, sled, and slid on the road. They would be closed for days. Thanks for sharing.

Be careful if you do go.
