Hello Friends!
Have you ever been inspired to make a change with one little inspirational piece?
Well this is my inspiration! A $20.00 pillow, I recently purchased at IKEA.
I love the colorful embroidery and the Swedish appeal.
Without a lot a moo-la I sweet talked hubby into doing a little painting for me!
This is our little side table that hubby built many moons ago!
I saw something similar in Yield House and hubby whipped it together in no time.
It's been a colonial blue for quite sometime and I felt the need to add some red and off whites to our living room. (think inspirational pillow)
Then there's the coffee table situation. I had grown tired of the oak finish and was ready for a change!
Well presto/chango! After two coats of cottage white paint and a swipe of dark colored stain...we have a brand new cottage look!
A new vignette using things I already had!
A closer look at the finish.
I am loving my new /old coffee table!
This old table was purchased at Ashley furniture many moons ago.
I am pretty sure we paid less than $100 for the table.
And since I am going to be very busy the next few days getting ready to visit my new grand-daughter
I thought I would combine this with Sheila's Rooster Party.
Now all of the roosters pictured below were attending our local county fair.
Most of them came away with shiny ribbons!
Well I just love county fairs and I only wish I could have written down all the names of our rooster friends.
Now how was that for a Rooster Fest!!
Isn't it amazing to see all the different breeds.
Little Addison was with us and she was in awe!
I just knew she would love our County Fair just like her Grandma!
I am joining the following blog parties.
And then I am packing and heading out so see that new Grand-baby!
Have a great week friends,
Cindy
WOW! What a transformation Cindy!!
ReplyDeleteI especially love the detailing on your coffee table and the paint and stain brought out that cool beading around the edge so well.
Oh I wish I could have gone to the Jackson County Fair! So glad Addison is loving it already.
I love what you did with your tables. They both look fantastic. Paint really does change things.
ReplyDeleteI like your chicken photos. I took some at the fair too but the cages got in the way with most of mine.
HI Cindy! Oh, I love what you've done to your tables! The one your hubby made is adorable and red is the perfect color for it. Your coffee table looks like a completely different table! I love it and the little vignette on top too.
ReplyDeleteNow for the yard birds! Wow! What a handsome group. I've never seen Roosters like these before and thank you so much for bringing them to my party! I used to love to go to the fair when I was a little girl! :)
You've brought back some sweet memories.
be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Really like the redos! Enjoy your visit with your new granddaughter.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
So interesting to see different breeds, Cindy. I love your repoainted tables. Nice choice of colors....Christine
ReplyDeleteLove the red console, it looks wonderful and such a great red. The coffee table is fabulous. Great changes and the vignette is perfect. The roosters are a hoot. How fun to see all the different ones. Thanks so much for joining the party.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see you Wednesday. Hugs, Marty
Wowsers....who'da thought a little paint could make such a huge difference?!! Love it!! That coffee table especially - GORGEOUS!!! And love your rooster friends....looks as though they posed especially well for you!! Are you a rooster whisperer??? ;o) Have a great week - and safe travels!! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
ReplyDeleteOh my! You did a wonderful job with your cottage update. I have that same pillow and I love the reds, blues and yellows. i also got the blue and white Ikea couch and it goes great on it. It's in our downstairs den where all the grandkids play. Your coffee table and blue table turned red are fabulous. I can't believe how a little paint transforms a good piece of furniture and makes an entire room look fresh and new. Did you use wax on your finish? Whatever you did, you did a great job. Oh and I love the roosters. I do have to tell you, I prefer hens as I was attacked by a rooster once and it wasn't pretty. I do so appreciate them when they are in those cages!
ReplyDeleteHI CINDY!!!
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to see you!!!!
I love love LOVE what you did there, I have been wanting to change up my son's old OAK bedroom furniture, so when I see you, I will ask you details how you did that!!!I also LOVE red so that is certainly a BIG A+ for you!!!!!
Hugs,
jamie
Oh Cindy I love the transformation and I love that pillow, it would be so wonderful in my little sun room!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your sweet comment about my screened in sun-room that Susan featured today for her Metamorphosis Monday.
We've enjoyed our little room so much this summer minus the bugs and the baking sun! Plus I can go in and change it up every once in a while to suite my mood and or season!
Thanks again,

Cindy I love the new look for your tables!! Absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI also love your roosters. The fourth one down is like the one my granddad was so proud of and entered in the county fair over 50 years ago!:-) You brought back a sweet memory, for me.
I can't wait to hear about your special trip and see the photos!!:-)
NICE paint job on the table. It looks completely transformed... Love it.
ReplyDeleteCindy,
ReplyDeleteBoth tables turned out fabulous! I love how something can be completely transformed with just some paint and a little bit of time. I really enjoyed looking at all the rooster pics too! Enjoy your visit with your new granddaughter!

I love the red table transformation as well as the round table. It is truly amazing to see all the variations of roosters. They are so beautiful and unique. I am originally from Madison...Joni
ReplyDeleteOh how you have inspired me to do my round coffee table. I love yours and I have wanted to paint mine. After seeing yours I am going to do it! Love your Re-do. I was just at Ikea today and I just about bought that pillow. It is beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing. Oh, yes, and the chicks are darling. Karie
ReplyDeleteGlad I dropped by. Your table looks fab - what a transformation.
ReplyDeleteCindy, your new changes look terrific. Congratulations on the new grand. What fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the County Fair chickens. You got some great shots.
LOVE the changes you made to your tables! Had to laugh....we have a painted barn red side table JUST like yours! LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous transformation. I have that same round coffee table and have been wanting to do something with it -- you've inspired me ;)
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Gail
Good heavens, Cindy!! NO one but you would think of coming up REAL life roo's to look at! :) You always make me grin!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Mona
I love what you did to your table - what brand of paint did you use for the white? What type of stain? Thanks for help, I've got a very white table I want to re-do.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Mary
I'm loving what you've done to your tables.. the coffee table won my heart.. it is so rich looking.. hugs ~lynne~
ReplyDeleteLove what you did with the two tables. The paint really brings out the details on the coffee table.
ReplyDeleteI am in love with that table! I love the apple red color. This whole post was GREAT!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy, that is a fabulous pillow - love all the colors! And the painting changes on the furniture is just perfect. What a great idea! Love it...Linda
ReplyDeleteOh Cindy, the transformation of both tables is wonderful! I love the way the coffee table turned out. The table Dan made would look great in any color, but that painted coffee table gives the whole room a new look. Your inspiration pillow is gorgeous. Leave it to you to bring live roosters to Shelia's party. What a treat! laurie
ReplyDeleteLove your tables. You are right that red one does add punch. And I have a round table just like yours that spends it's time in the garage, because I don't like the finish. Must be time for me to paint too!
ReplyDeleteI love what the pop of red did for your room. Isn't it amazing how painting 2 pieces of furniture can change the entire look? It is great and yes, I often do entire rooms around one found treasure!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy that new baby!
That is a really pretty and inspirational pillow! I think the red side table looks really nice... a great pop of color in that room. I noticed that the shade on the little lamp seems to mimic the embroidery in the pillow too, which is a nice touch.
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy! I know you're being a busy gal and I so appreciate you popping in to see my little tea towels!
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I love the change! It looks great with your pillow.
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a great vacation!
Cindy what a difference a coat of paint can make! I loved the table your hubby made painted blue...but the red is PERFECT. However...the transformation of the coffee table is amazing. After seeing the difference I'm going to paint our oak dining table and chairs for sure. I had been thinking about it but was fighting with the idea and now after seeing yours with the stain giving it that 'aged' look I know it's exactly what I want to do! THANK YOU for the inspiration :)Love that pillow too ;)
ReplyDeleteMaura
Seriously! I bought those exact same pillows last year and they inspired me to change my entire bedroom! I wonder how many other people got inspired by those sweet Ikea pillows?
