A little prayer for Addison.

Could you please say a prayer for my granddaughter Addison?
She was admitted into the hospital this morning with RSV.
She just had a minor cold and cough when my daughter took her up to have her 6 month check-up and shots.
That was on Tuesday.  We had her up to the hospital Tuesday night and they thought she would be fine with just a little bit of Tylenol and fluids.
Well last evening my hubby and I were babysitting and she was getting worse.
We took her to the hospital where they ran lot's of nasty tests on her.  Poor baby, I cried right along with her.
My daughter took her home with a nebulizer and Tylenol suppositories.

This morning she was getting worse and her breathing was so labored.  Katie and I rushed her to ER and they admitted her.  I just left there a bit ago and will go back after a shower.  They were able to get her temp down and her breathing a bit more normal and she finally fell asleep.  This has been so scary.  She has always been very healthy and I was irked that they gave her shots when she was a bit ill.
This morning the Dr. who gave her the shots said that with the RSV and the shots affecting her immune system is probably what is making her so ill.
I am sorry I haven't been around much but I will keep you updated.
Thanks,
Cindy

  10. Cindy, Very sorry about your sweet lil one getting sicker.
I will lift her up in prayer.

I was stunned the time I went with my Granddaughter to get her shots....not just one, but 4 or 5 all in one visit.
This made me sick! Why so many at one visit...they can get feverish and cranky with one shot.

When they have colds or running fever, I think it would be alright to say we'll wait on the shots till the cold is gone.

May your Grand daughter be better soon,
    d

  26. Poor babe. Will pray for sure, and I wish they would not have given her the shot while sick. I never wanted to give my kids shots when they were sick even with no fever
despite what the dr or nurses said but I didn't know to do that with my oldest. I now have a like minded doctor who totally agrees and with my last two kids I spread all shots out to one at a time to make it easier for them to handle. The shots have more than doubled from my first daughter to my fourth. Scary what they want us to stick our babies with. I only did what was absolutely necessary and the other shots can wait. Oh please keep us posted. She is so darling.

  38. Cindy I'm so sorry to read about little Addison....I hope everything is under control now and the doctors have her feeling better. Things like this are so frightening and you feel helpless. Our youngest daughter came down with pertussis (whopping cough) at 2 months old...it was very frightening. I will be thinking of you and praying that Addison is home with you soon. Take care.
