Hi friends,
I've trying to come up with an idea for a little added front porch pizazz!
Something easy and cheap to make too!
I found this cute little straw hat at Michael's for under $3.00.
The glittered lady bugs are actually little buttons that I found at Hobby Lobby.

I had been searching for little garden tools.  I found these at Pier 1 clearance priced at .80 cents each.

I added some daisies, (that I already had on hand) red gingham ribbon and the cute little ladybug ribbon (purchased at Hobby Lobby.
I just tied the ribbon and then used my handy glue gun to apply the rest.
Easy, peasy and cheap too!
Total cost to make...less than $10.00!

Another view.  I am still experimenting with where I want to hang it.  I wanted it on my door but that would put it in easy reach of little Addison.  I think the ladybugs and little tools would be just too much temptation for her.
She has been grabbing my tulips and then she runs as fast as she can go and throws them.
She knows she isn't supposed to touch them but her impulses just get the better of her.
After all, she is only one!
Yesterday we were in the upper 70's and muggy too!
Today and I kid you not, I see little snowflakes swirling around outside.
Oh this weather has really been a roller-coaster!
How is the weather where you are today?

I am joining Susan @ Between Naps on the Porch for Met. Monday.
And Marty for Tabletop Tuesday.  It's a porch/wall top but I think she will let me join in too!

  1. Hi Cindy- It is cold here today, too, and they are telling us it might spit snow tonight or tomorrow. I am so tired of this weather. I just wish it would stay warm. Your hat is adorable. Yep..I can see little Addison being fascinated by the ladybugs on it. Isn't that just an adorable age? xo Diana

  3. MMMMM! Ladybug Pie!

How charming a decoration for Spring, and how cleverly you did it.

We're in the Heartland, main channel of all the rain and storms streaking from West to East, and STILL can't decide whether to take out the last of the potted plants, for we've had to cover the ones outside twice in the last week.

  4. I love those ladybugs...that is just too cute...I know what you mean with the little ones...they know they aren't suppose to but....it just gets the better of them...litttle britches wanted to dig in my garden...but he wanted to dig up the plants...so I fixed him a bucket of dirt...and we planted rocks...kept him busy for a few minutes any way...then he moved on to something new....home your weather gets stable soon...

  7. This is darling, Cindy! I expect you to wear it in Galena!

Our weather is just like yours, without the snow. Super windy. I have to go grocery shopping and I know I'm going to blow over. Then sushi with Abby. Love a daughter that takes me out to dinner!

  16. Hi Cindy, As soon as your first photo opened on my computer I felt happy! Those ladybug buttons are just so cute!!! And I'm thinking little Addison is even cuter when she snitches the tulips. Our weather has been crazy, but no snowflakes. Monday was 90, and today when we ate on the deck we were using blankets to cover up with! You can even see them in the background on my post. I don't know what this summer will bring. Linda

  21. What a cute hat, you crafty person you! I used to love ladybugs until about 2 years ago when I had a huge infestation of them. One day I killed almost 200 in our kitchen and on the deck. I hated to commit ladybug murder but I had no choice! I still like your hat though:)
