Now how cute is this gingerbread family? Right down to the braided rug, I love it all!
Now isn't that just the cutest thing?
And boy did it feel like Autumn yesterday! On Thursday, 1st day of school for the kids around here it was in the 90's! And yesterday, only in the mid-sixties. But it was sunny and actually turned out to be great fair weather.
And I just love the idea for this kitchen wreath! Simple but oh so charming. An oldish square frame with vintage kitchenware..... now I think I could do this!
I so admire the fine sewing that we got to see. Just look at these Barbie wedding gowns!
And I loved this! Barbie clothes made out of vintage hankies....so cute!
More adorable doll clothes.
Now this took my breath away! The whole thing is made out of tinker toys!
Amazing huh?
The flowers were so perfect that it was hard to believe they were real...but they were!
I am always amazed at the creativity and amazing craftsmanship that we see at the fair.
Today feels like Autumn again! Sunny but cool, maybe mid-sixties. Next week we are back to normal, highs in the mid-to-upper 70's!
Sounds about perfect for me!
I hope you all are enjoying this long week-end, leave me a note and let me know what you are up to!
Cindy
OK, now really....I HAVE GOT TO HAVE A WREATH LIKE THAT! Oh mercy....I am crazy for it!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh Cindy ... how I miss the MN State Fair! For 24 years I never missed one ... my son went yesterday to celebrate his 49th birthday!!!
ReplyDeleteThere are so many creative people out there.
ReplyDeleteHave not been to the fair here in years - not what it use to be.
Enjoy your holiday weekend.
Hi Cindy! OOOHHHH! I haven't been to a fair in so long and this looks like so much fun - so much to see!
ReplyDeleteLove that gorgeous arrangement too.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I remember your pics from last year too Cindy, just amazing! Looks like such a fun way to spend the day:@)
ReplyDeleteAmazing. Thanks for sharing. I love the Barbie hanky dresses, and the gingerbread kitchen.
ReplyDeleteOh how fun. I always love the fair and so much to see and oogle over. Love that gingerbread house display. That is totally amazing and the tinkertoys are unreal too. Sounds like a fun day and perfect weather. We are still soooooooo hot here. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteCindyyyyy...I wish to visit that fair..... thanks for sharing...it's amazing...hugs, Flavia
ReplyDeleteOur state fair is up in Northern California, but the county fair is here next week for a month...I will have to go I think...we haven't been in a couple years. I love that tinker toy display...it was amazing! Our weather has been all over the place too...today it rained...then the sun came out and it's about 80...that's actually really pleasant for this time of year! Happy Labor Day!!
ReplyDeleteTinker Toys...Wow! Does that ever bring back memories.
ReplyDeleteOur state fair is in August and hot hot hot. Right now would be the perfect day to go to the state fair in MO. We are actually having "fallish" temps.:-)
Loved this post, Cindy!
Cindy, you wonderful Americans have the BEST fairs ever. We just don't have those fairs around her like that. When we lived in Vancouver, we would cross the border into Washington State and go to the fairs there. YUMMY and oh so wonderful. The kids LOVED the 4 H tent. We actually bought a prize bunny from them and smuggled it home. SWEET.
ReplyDeleteNow it's been cool here too. I'm afraid we will have to close the pool down, and I'm so sad. I love summer and heat. Fall is pretty, but it brings the snow ; (
Happy end of this wonderful long weekend gf.
xoxoxoxo
Great craftsmanship, Cindy! I love the doll clothes, particularly the wedding gowns and Barbie doll dresses. I can't wait to see more from your fair. Also want to thank you for your comments about staying home vs working. I think it is wonderful that you are home with Addison!!!

Oh man that gingerbread is something else!
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun. Haven't been to a state fair since childhood.
ReplyDeleteThe gingerbread kitchen is so cute!! I decorate my kitchen in gingerbread at the holidays so I really loved that. And the wreath with the vintage green handled utensils... I collect the green handles too. Golly, I think I should have been at the fair!
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures Cindy....I've never been to a state fair - and these past few years haven't even made it to our local county fairs (given the job I was in, it was very difficult to "blend in...") Definitely miss the exhibits and the glorious foods. Wow...I keep looking at that floral arrangement.....I can't believe that's actually real!!! Brrrr...chilly up in these parts!! Heat's back on!! Oh yeah....Hope the day was good to you! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
ReplyDeleteI just love the wreath of kitchen utensils! I hope you don't mind me pinning that. It is the cutest idea I've seen in a while. Love the hankie barbie dresses too! Thanks for sharing these wonderful crafts, looks like it was a fun fair.
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteAll is so beautiful, the gingerbread family is so pretty, the wreath so creative and the flowers so bright.(Thank you for your visit) Blessings Catherine
those gingerbread are beyond adorable! we actually made it to our state fair this year, first time in probably 15 or so years!!! Of course it rained--RAINED lol. But we got to try alot of the foods everyone raves about and just enjoyed being there again.
ReplyDeleteMore inspiration from the fair! I love that kitchen wreath, and want to copy it, and I love the Barbie hankie dresses. Some people are just so smart. laurie
ReplyDeleteI loved everything at the fair! It looks like you love all the same booths that I visit. I especially love the idea of the Sun Flowers tied with yellow ribbon on the back of the chairs. I may try that for my daughter's wedding in November. She loves Sun Flowers. My next favorite arena is the animals. Did you get round to the goats and chickens. I could stay in that building all day. My kids used to raise rabbits for 4-H.
ReplyDeleteI just love that Tinker-Toy exhibit...wow!
