I seem to have a love/hate affair with tablescaping!
I LOVE seeing other people's creations and I LOVE doing it myself.
However, I hate how it can make me go out and spend more than I should and maybe buy things I don't really need.
My only new item for today's table is the real white pumpkin which cost $1.50 and the small mum plant which was only $2.00.
The rest I already had and most of it I bought super cheap!
My centerpiece is a white pumpkin that I carved out and added a tiny mum to. I added a few faux leaves and such to fill it out a bit more.
The gold tablecloth was only $2. last after Christmas. The red plates were marked down to .75 cents at Wally World, the napkins were a gift, the flatware, everyday and the napkin rings were marked down to $2 for 4 at Wally.
Gold goblets only $1 a piece at Wally, marked down last fall.
We've had a bit of rain lately so it's still so nice and green outside! The leaves are rapidly turning with our cool in the 60's weather.
Easy, fun and cheap!
So how do you feel about tablescaping? Do you ever buy more than you really need?
So now I'm off to visit and get to drool at some really amazing tables!
Take Care,
Cindy

Hi sweetie, I love your fall tablescape. The plaids are always wonderful, especially this time of year, and I don't have any "fall" ones.. oh man I have got to fix that. ;-) I love your centerpiece carved out of a pumpkin. The view through your window is so inviting, even on your cloudy day.. hugs ~lynne~
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fall autumscape Cindy. I love the colors and your pumpkin filled with flowers looks gorgeous.

ReplyDeleteNancy
You did a great job - very pretty. I especially like the centerpiece!
ReplyDeleteCindy, this is soooo beautifully Fall. The carved out pumpkin filled with flowers is such a pretty idea for a centerpiece, and all of those reds and golds look so warm. I never buy anything for a tablescape. For me, the fun in tablescaping is finding everything I need in the house. of course, I have a LOT of junk to choose from! laurie

ReplyDeleteI love the idea of using a white pumpkin for your flower/centerpiece container. So pretty.

ReplyDeleteFall decor...is it that time already?? You did a lovely job.
ReplyDeleteMolto bella e accogliente questa tavola autunnale!Rosetta
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy. That's a beautiful table....love the rich, warm colors you pulled together. White pumpkins are my fav! As far as tablescaping goes, I enjoy seeing it and get inspired, but I just can't do it because I lose control! I have a hard enough time passing up all the GW and thrifting bargains I see - you know the mantra = "It's only $$". Now you've inspired me to get out my fall decorating stuff! Linda
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Love the metal basket piece holding the pumpkin! :)
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful Cindy! Now what time did ya want me to show up for dinner??? Heehehehe!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm quite smitten with at precious little white pumpkin. You certainly did dress her out well.
Have a fun day sweetie surrounded by your warm charmin' fallishness.
God bless ya :o)
That was a good buy for the white pumpkin. They are charging .49 a lb. for pumpkins here!
ReplyDeleteLove this table, great colors to welcome Fall.
And yes, blogging has cost me a lot of money! I am always looking for something new for a tablescape! Addictive!
Have a great weekend, very warm and drizzle here, not Fall like at all!

Hi Girlfriend...
ReplyDeleteOhhhh...you always do up autumn soooo beautifully, sweet friend! And...I think that your gorgeous kitchen and dining area are most beautiful when dressed up in their autumn frocks!!! I love the rich golds, reds, and olive greens (but then, I would suspect that you would...hehe!) I love the autumn plaid placemats and napkins...gorgeous!!! Your new red dinner plates look beautiful on them! Girlfriend, you DO create the most beautiful floral centerpieces! I love, love, LOVE this gorgeous autumn centerpiece! Love the white pumpkin! I have been wanting to do something like this for a long time and never seem to get around to it, but I love the idea of carving out the pumpkin and making a floral arrangement for it! Your mums are beautiful...the perfect color for this lovely table! I think my favorite is...all the beautiful pieces that you added to the centerpiece to fill it in! Simply gorgeous, sweet friend! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful autumn table with us...this was such a treat!!!
How are you doing? Do you and Dan have plans for the weekend? As far as I know, there isn't anything in the works at our place, but you never know about us! I'm hoping to give Gloria a call today or tomorrow to see how she is doing. She went into the hospital yesterday for an angiogram (sp?). I am sooo hoping that this gets her to feeling better. I have been so worried about her! Anyway, just wanted to let you know, dear friend!
Have a sweet day!
Love ya,
Chari
Bite your tongue, Cindy! Whaddya mean "...buy things I don't really need..."? We "need" it all! Need is a synonym for want, right? That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it! :-) You found some great bargains ($1 each on the goblets? Great!), and everything works very well together. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love all those rich, fall colors. It sounds as if you got good deals on everything! White pumpkins are my favorite. Mine that size was $6!
ReplyDeleteAs for tablescapes. I love seeing them. I actually love creating them, but I've been on a bit of a break from them. We have a garage sale on Saturday and all the "stuff" has been gathering in our basement. I had to walk through it to get to my dish room and I've avoided the basement as much as possible. I just pull out things for the sale and my husband carries them downstairs! Hopefully, I will start getting back into it after the sale and a little fall trip we are taking.
I have always spent too much on dishes etc. I loved them long before tablescaping! I do look for good prices and I am selling some to make room so I can look for more!
Love all of the plaids, but what I'm really eyeing is the black metal basket/bowl holding the pumpkin. Great piece.
ReplyDelete- The Tablescaper
very pretty...you did a great job...
ReplyDeleteYour fall table is gorgeous! I don't do tablescapes, for the very reasons you mentioned. But I sure enjoy looking at yours and everyone elses.
ReplyDeleteYour table is lovely Cindy! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Susan and Bentley
