A Tree Metamorphisis/ Deck the Halls/ Vintage Christmas Monday!

Over the river and through the woods to the little Tree Farm we go!  Yesterday, Dan and I went hunting for the perfect tree!   We only had to venture about 6 miles from home to this lovely little tree farm.

You can buy your tree already cut or head out and cut your own.

Dan and I like to cut our own, that way we know it's super fresh.  There are rows and rows of trees!

There are Balsam and  Black Hills Spruce.  Blue Spruce and Frasier Fir.  I have decided I want a Frasier Fir this year.  They are like the Cadillac of Christmas Trees as they hold their needles so well.

By golly, I think I found my tree!  She's about 7.5 feet and with a little bottom trimming she should fit just fine!

My meticulous Hubby measures her just to make sure!

This tree even has little pine cones still on it!  I love it and I hope they stay put!

Now for the fun part!  HeeHe!  He's such a trooper!  Thank-you Honey!

Up on the old Jeep she goes!

A few hours later, and we have our Tree Metamorphisis!

A little up close of some of my ornaments.

One of my all time faves!  I have had her for 30 some years and although she's not quite vintage yet ,she does have the look!

Now this little Nativity was purchased by my Mom in 1961.  I remember staring and staring at it as a bitty little girl and being in awe of the Magic of Christmas.
I am joining Susan for Met. Monday.
Joan for Vintage Christmas Monday.
On Tuesday, Susan for Deck The Halls!  Thanks ladies for hostessing these fun blog parties!   Have a great week everyone!  Cindy

  5. I like your choice of tree--it's so perfectly shaped! And that bonneted girl ornament is cute. I think 30 years qualifies her as vintage! My favorite thing though is the Packer jacket. Go Pack Go!
    Happy VCM!

  7. I miss having a live tree. We actually leave in a week for the holidays, so we switched 2 years ago to an artificial tree. It is easier and the only way to go when you are going to travel...but, it isn't the same. Yours looks beautiful and I bet it smells wonderful at your house.

  16. Thank you so much for coming by for a visit.
Your tree is beautiful and definetly a Coupe De Ville complete with hood ornaments. You did a fabulous job of decorating it. It's a goood thing you chose to cut your own. I just watched a program and did you know trees are cut in October to be sent to Christmas tree lots? I sure didn't! No wonder the needles start falling out...good grief!
Come by anytime...I'll leave a light on for you!

  25. OH MY GOODNESS you are so flippin' cute with your adorable boots!!!!
What a fun time! You're right, Dan is a trooper. Mark would've been saying the ENTIRE time "I hate the cold! I hate the cold!"
Hence, we live in So Cal. :(
But it is a chilly 44 degrees here today - yup - BABY it's COLD outside!! :)
Snow is all the way down on the 2nd row of hills behind our house. So BEAUTIFUL! I mean, I could drive up about 1 mile and be in the snow. How cool is that?
Love your "almost vintage" angel. She is beautiful. I wish I had kept my Mom's nativity. sigh.
    I still think you look adorable . . .
    HUGS! :) Karen

  29. Cindy, You selected the most perfect and beautiful tree, complete with little pinecones!! Love your precious ornaments, too. I think it is so special to have something from your childhood and that nativity set is just precious. Much as I would like to have a real tree, I just cannot handle picking needles out of the carpet in March! *grin* and can you imagine 7 of those suckers in the house?!

  31. Cindy, your tree looks beautiful! How fun to go cut your tree. We go to a tree farm, but we've gotten old and let them cut the trees after we pick them out! I love that sweet little nativity. How great that it was yours when you were a child. Thanks for coming to visit me. You are just the sweetest visitor! You asked if my village pieces were a set. After you asked that, I decided I should have put that in the post, so I went back and added it - no, they are not all from a set. When you refuse to buy unless it is on sale, you don't get a set of anything! laurie

You look so cute in your boots...just like a little snow bunny! Ohhh my...your tree looks soooo beautiful all decked out, Cindy! I love the little Christmas doll too! Love how you did all the pretty red Christmas ribbon streamers...that's always how I do my tree! Ohhh...what a beautiful area you live in...it's really a Winter Wonderland!!! I would love to come for a visit some day...you know, I have never been to Wisconsin!

Well my friend, I sure did enjoy watching you find the perfect tree and seeing it all trimmed out! It's beautiful!!! Enjoy!!! We are under winter storm warnings again...it's really snowing and of course the wind is blowing so that makes for dangerous conditions! I'm glad that Russell will be home from work soon...it's getting nasty out! Boy...and it's cold too! It's only 7 degrees...brrrr!!!

    Love ya, Darlin'!

  37. I used to enjoy the whole tree hunt event but then again I didn't have to do the laying in the ground and the lugging of the tree. Hip hip hooray for those willing to do this.
