Every year, Dan and I try to make the trek down to Riverside Park to see this fabulous display! LaCrosse, Wisconsin is a city of about 50,000 in our neck of the woods! It's located on the beautiful Mississippi and surrounded by gorgeous bluffs!
Riverside Park is located right next to the Mississippi, of course! It's a gorgeous park and the perfect set-up for this spectacular display!
Music is piped in and manyof the lights are sychronized to the music. See the fire breathing dragon!
Dan and I drove through last night and then we parked and walked through. It was cold, but oh so worth it!
Come along as we work our way around.
So touching.
The lights are synchronized to the music, it is so cool!
One of the snow domes where you can go inside, warm up and even purchase some hot chocolate! Many evenings they have local choirs singing inside!
Med-Link 1.
A Riverboat on the Mississippi, well of course!
In honor of our Hero's.
It's a Winter Wonderland out here but getting chilly. Let's head over to one of the Snow Dome's to warm up!
I have a red nose, but it's blasting warm, moist air in here and I love it!
Back to our car...
As we head on out......
Oh, I love it here!
The tree beckons us
A Happy Display....
As Frosty bids us farewell! WE WILL BE BACK AGAIN NEXT YEAR!
I am joining our hostess Susan for Outdoor Wednesday, check it out for some Outdoor Fun!
Happy New Year to all my wonderful friends! Blogging has been such an awesome experience and I so appreciate all your comments and friendship!
Cindy
Oh, Cindy! This is absolutely FABULOUS! What an awesome light display. I don't know which I like best, but I love the igloo. LOL! And the helicopter. And the sweet card from heaven. Oh, what a great thing the Rotary Club does for that community.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this tour with you so much. Thanks for taking us along...
XO,
Sheila :-)
That looks fabulous..
ReplyDeleteI really liked the remembrances to our service people..touching!
We have some homes here that go way overboard with the outdoor lights..Their electric bills are thousands of dollars!! :(
I like this Riverside's idea better!
Absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to all!
Cheer and regards.
Regina

What an awesome light display. Thanks for sharing. I wish you and yours all the best in 2010. Happy New Years.
ReplyDeleteWow, Cindy! That is gorgeous! We have a place in Georgia called Callaway Gardens that is famous for its Christmas light display. We have gone several times and love it. I can REALLY appreciate your pics - beautiful! Linda
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy, my friend...How I've missed visiting you! Your Holiday Light show you shared is spectacular. Here where I live in GA, near Lake Lanier, they also do a huge show like this. It's amazing...and I didn't go this year because the price has just skyrocketed at a time you'd think they'd be more gracious and reduce it. Nonetheless, your light show was just as enjoyable! I have missed my visits to your blog and hope that 2010 will be much more open for me to come more often. I think I need to devise a schedule specifically to not miss a visit at least once a week to my favorites, of which yours is one! :) May your New Year be especially a blessed one with your friends and loved ones! Hugs~ ~CC Catherine
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful display and a touching tribute to our troops. I posted Christmas photos from the base in Kuwait where my nephew is stationed on his way to Iraq. I would love to post the Army photo to his FB page to share with all the guys there if you don't mind. They love knowing we're thinking of them.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Wow Cindy that was an amazing display! It's so wonderful that some people take the time and effort to make Christmas more enjoyable for everyone! We have a home, not that far from us, that does and amazing display. They start in October a do a huge canopy of lights over their very long driveway and invite everyone to stroll up the driveway to see all the beautiful displays they have on each side of their property while you listen to the Christmas music they have playing. On the first day they light the displays they invite everyone into their home and serve cookies and hot chocolate to all who come and all the kiddies leave with a candy cane. Some people are just precious! Thank you for sharing this wonderful light display with us. Happy New Year my friend!
ReplyDeleteAren't you just too cute in your little red coat with your little red nose. Thanks so much for takin' us along with you. The display is just breathtakingly beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a very wonderful New Year, Cindy!!!!
Hi Cindy! You found a great light show. I really liked that dinosaur and the helicopter :0)
ReplyDeleteI liked how they honored the military, too.
Happy new Year!!
All I can say is WOW! It must have been so amazing in person. I like the picture of you with your "red nose". Stay warm and have a Happy New Year. --Delores PS: I have been missing some of your latest posts too. Weird!
ReplyDeleteHello Cindy,
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolutely fabulous light display. I don't know which set I like best, but I love the tribute to our military.

Hey sweet Girl...
ReplyDeleteOhhh...what a fabulous Christmas light display!!! LaCrosse certainly knows how to "do it up right"...that's for sure!!! I would just love seeing it...I'm still such a kid at heart when it comes to all the pretty Christmas lights! I always have Russell drive me around town at Christmas so I can see everyone's lights! hehe! I love how your photos turned out...you can't see the trees that all the lights are on...and it looks like the lights are just suspended in mid air...awesome!!! I love the little igloo too! What a great idea...they really have provided everything!!! Thank you for sharing your tour with us, Darlin'...I really enjoyed it!!!
Well sweet friend, it's only a couple of days till the New Year! Do you and Dan have any special plans for seeing the New Year in? Since we still have the kids...I think we're just going to do a night with special "eats" and movies! They enjoy that and it's right up this old gal's alley as well! Hehe! I'm sending you and Dan my very best wishes for a very, very Happy New Year!!! Praying that the Lord continues to richly bless you both with all that you have need of for 2010!!! Love ya, sweet friend!!! I'm also looking forward to another new year of blogging and visiting with you too!!!
Love ya,
Chari
The photographs remind me a lot of the Fantasy in Lights at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mt. Georgia.

ReplyDeleteCindy,
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome display of lights. I have never outgrown my love of "seeing the lights". We were lucky this year, we actually had cold night that made driving around/walking and looking at them seem like we were not in Florida. Thank you for sharing these wonderful pictures.
