Looking back on 09, to celebrate my Blogger Anniversary!!!

div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I am joining my dear friend Chari, @ Happy to Design for Sunday Favorites.  What a great way to finish up the year and look back fondly at Blog Posts, long forgotten.  My Blog was brand, spankin, new in January as I started my blog on January 2nd, 2009.  Today is my Blogs anniversary and I will be celebrating with a give-away in the next few weeks! I am still gathering some things for my giveaway, so please check back in about a week!  In January, I showed you the Antique Bed that I found garage sale-ing.  It needed some work but with a little help from hubby and a few coats of paint it became a bright, cheery ,addition to my daughters room.

In February, I joined Met. Monday again for a Mini Bathroom update. I am loving the Met. Mondays, they push me to get things finished!

In March, I hosted a Baby Shower for my Sister Susie.  What a fun time, and you offered some great tips and advise.

In April, I showed you the Hall Tree that hubby built for me!  He simply sketched it out on a napkin, using his shoe as a guide to measure while we browsed through an Amish Store one Saturday afternoon.

In May, I did a post about the Hickory Wood Floor that talented hubby laid in our living room.

Had a week-end away in Wisconsin Dells.

Celebrated Spring with a Porch Party!

In June, I blogged about the new Armoire that hubby built me!  I am a lucky gal!

In July, I wrote about our trip to North Carolina and ......

     South Carolina.   Oh, what fun!

In August, I showed you my old table made new, with a little paint job by that talented hubby of mine!  I also joined Cuisine Kathleen for Let There Be White Party!

I was so excited in September, to show you these Sandhill Cranes I spotted while out for an early morning drive.

And the Doors of Welcome Party, with my dear friend Karen @ Some Days are Diamonds.

The end of October, first of November was GRAND!   Hubby and I  flew out to Phoenix to visit my Son Josh, and DIL Dawn and I also was lucky enough to attend the Arizona Bloggers Tea Party!  And to my huge surprise, look who popped in, all the way from Southern California!  The lovely Karen, who has just been such a wonderful friend and inspiration to me!

And their was Linda, who I knew from our 4-H days and Laura from Decor to Adore.

Ceekay and Marty and many more wonderful ladies!

In December, I was fortunate again as Hubby and I traveled to Galena, Ill. to meet Jane (aka Blondie's Journal) and hubby Alan.  What a fun week-end we had and one I will never forget! We have plans to meet back up next summer, I can't wait!

Blogging has been such a wonderful experience for me!  Never in a million years did I imagine, that I would be meeting fellow bloggers less than a year later.  The friendships are real, the comraderie that we all share is amazing!  Non-bloggers have a hard time understanding and I have a hard time explaining it to them but I always encourage them to give it a try!  My hubby has been so supportive and a great sport when I told him we were going to Galena!  He had a wonderful time!  I want to take a minute to thank all of you for your support.  All the kind and funny and amazing comments that you have left!  I love the e-mails too so here's to you, all my fellow bloggers and friends, thank-you for making this a great year!!!!!!
Cindy

  6. You have had a busy year and thanks for sharing it with us. I don't think it made it above freezing today and that is way to cold for me. Don't think I would make it in your part of the country. I really dread seeing my utility bill for this month.

  9. Happy Anniversary Sweetie...
What a wonderful year of blogging you have had. My one year anniversary will be in June. I can't believe the time that has gone by. I am still wondering where 2009 went. It really doesn't seem possible that we are already into 2010.

You are quite the traveler. I notice that in your later pictures you cut your hair. I love it. I bet you do. It sure is easier to take care of. You will have to let me know when you are coming back to town, and I will try to meet with you again. I think we are going to have our next blogger luncheon in February. I am really not sure.

Have a wonderful New Year. Weather here is beautiful. Cooler but not coat weather as of yet for me.

    Country hugs sweetie...Sherry

  11. Congrats on your 1 year Blog-iversary Cindy!

So glad you started one cuz that's how we found each other after 30 years!
We made it home... after 3800 miles round trip to WI and back. The visitation and funeral service was so wonderful and honoring to my Dad's life. I saw Joan & Jr. Jacobson... and Jerry came to the funeral too. I told them all about meeting you through our blogs.
Even Nyla Musser came to the visitation. I had not seen her since my 4-H years.
We arrived back in Tempe last night. Just in time... my Mom said it was -15 this morning! However are you dealing with such extreme cold? I actually loved the weather the whole time we were there. I love the snow!

I loved seeing your year in review ! You are right about all the "true" friends out in Blogville....I was just at the Home Depot yesterday looking at red paint chips My hubby asked me what I was doing..."I am looking for a great red like Cindy's has - for our front door" "Who is Cindy ?" "Cindy from Applestone Cottage - one of my bloggy buddies..duh...." We are re-painting the house, garage, barn...this spring and I think I found the perfect red to give it that "pop" ! See you inspired me - keep it up girlfriend, so I can see more for 2010 !
    Happy New Year !
