It's Wednesday again and that means it's time for another Outdoor Wednesday! Thanks to our hostess Susan,
http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/ be sure to visit her blog for more wonderful Outdoor Wednesday posts.
This pic was taken right inside my picture window. I think it was January and the deer had come down to feed. Every night when my hubby would get home from work he would take some corn up to a feeder near our woods. It got to be that they would spot my hubby's Jeep and start heading down to the feeder to greet him.
While visiting a little town last summer we were impressed by the rows and rows of petunias. Every street in town had petunias planted near the curbs that seemed to go on endlessly. The residents informed us that they held a week-end every spring when all the residents came out and help plant these gorgeous flowers.
I was looking through old pics and found this cute one of my daughter and step-son in front of Mount Rushmore. They were 7 and this was their first to trip to see this awesome site. If you get the chance to travel to the Black Hills of South Dakota and Mount Rushmore you won't be disappointed.
This last picture was taken in Florida. My daughter was 2 or 3 and I only had a cheap little camera but I loved her silhouette against the water and sky as the sun was starting to set.
Happy Outdoor Wednesday Cindy! It's Santa's reindeer in your yard! Love the petunia lined streets...and the pictures of your children are great (I love the silhouette too)!! Thanks for sharing your photos.

I love the idea of the petunia lined streets! Must be beautiful! That beach shot is so artistic - wouldn't have known it was a cheap camera. It all shows you it is the photographer, not the camera. :D Jewel
ReplyDeleteYou can tell your photos were taken with love, that is what makes them so great!
ReplyDeleteGreat outdoor pics, Cindy! We have a lot of deer come to our backyard too but they don't come to us. How cute that they know when your hubby is coming. We try to be still when we are watching them so we don't scare them away. Beautiful petunias and your kids' pictures are precious!...Christie
ReplyDeleteCindy! All these photos you treated us to today are great. I love the flashback ones of your children. Sweet!!
ReplyDeleteI love deer so much. If I saw all those deer in my yard, I would flip out with joy.
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy...Wonderful story about the deer...so sweet of you to feed the poor things! My favorite is the photo of your daughter...beautiful!!...hugs...Debbie
ReplyDeleteThere is your cute header again. I love the idea of the petunia town. How special. I've never been to Mt. Rushmore or Florida, but you took me there today. I enjoyed my visit.

All of your outdoor pictures are great. I love to see deer. My mother used to live at the edge of the woods, too and the deer would come in to eat the corn they would put out. I also like your other pics of the flowers, Mt. Rushmore and the beach.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful pictures! I love them all, but I really love the one of your daughter. The flower beds are lovely as are the deer, and I would love to see Mt. Rushmore. How special that your kids got to see it. They are both darling in that picture!
ReplyDeleteHappy OW!
XO,
Sheila :-)
Very nice photos. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIt must be so wonderful to see so many deer coming right near your house. The photography of your daughter at the beach should be framed. Nice shot! Happy Outdoor Wednesday!

Hi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteI love it that you post family photos. It's so nice to revisit precious memories, isn't it. And the deer and petunias are really neat.
All the best, Lana @ Showers of Blessings
Beautiful outdoor Wednesday photos. I love the one of the deer, how cute that they come for dinner! I love the idea of the town having a "planting weekend". Great shots! Kathy
ReplyDeleteLook at those deers in snow! Now who do you think is missing in the picture? :-)
ReplyDeleteIf your street has all those arrays of flowers the wow. Everyday would be a beautiful day for walking.
I like old photos. Seeing photos of me and my sister during our younger days make me smile. Oh you may say it was just taken by a cheap camera but the photo is PRICELESS!
My dad also feeds the deer here even though it is illegal to do so. He used to be a hunter when he was a young man but now he is an animal lover. I think he is trying to make up for all the deer he hunted over the years. I love the picture of your daughter and stepson and the picture of your daughter at the beach is especially beautiful. I can't even imagine living in a town where all the residents get together to do something as beautiful as planting flowers. Do you remember the name of the town?
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE LOVE LOVE for the deer to come greet me. What a gift you have.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are great, the one with your daughter on the beach..awesome.
Your petunias are lovely. Great photos.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos on your post today! Mount Rushmore is awesome! Have a great Wednesday! Thanks for sharing with all of us. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove your pictures. I have always wanted to visit Mt Rushmore. It is so fun to travel on Wednesdays, thanks. Maryrose
ReplyDeletePS - love the music, it reminds me of my dad.
Your pictures are so great! I really like the beach picture and the deer feeding! Happy OW!
ReplyDeleteHello there! I so enjoyed your post today. My favorite photo? Your daughter on the beach. Second? The feeding deer. We also have many deer here that come literally into town to feed. It's not at all unusual for me to see several at a time eating grasses in a lot across the street from my townhome.
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteI just have to comment on all three pics. Living in the country we get to see a lot of wildlife, and deer are our one favorite and to be able to see what you do is so awesome!!!
I have always been so enthralled with Mount Rushmore, I know that your daughter and step son have often reflected back on this experience, how awesome!!!
And the picture of your daughter at the beach is priceless, I love the color of the sky in the background of her silhouette!! beautiful!
Thank you for sharing, and for your always visits with kind words,
Blessings,
Sue
How fun to see the deer in your backyard! I bet feeding and watching them come in each night makes winter go by faster.
ReplyDeleteI think I have that same exact pose of my kids by Mt Rushmore :-)
Hi Cindy...today is a first visit for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it...your home is beautiful from all the sidebar photos I saw. This was a wonderful post & I'm adding you to my blog list so I can come back often. ;-) Bo
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the little girl at the beach....love the tones of that picture - it sparkles. We have one from our last trip that turned out like that, too. What a wonderful surprise! Linda
ReplyDeleteCindy,
ReplyDeleteI would be so thrilled to have a deer "following"! They are the most awesome creatures on earth. Beautiful picture! I also love the idea of planting the petunia's on the curb as a neighborhood thing. How special these people are to beautify their town thit way.
The pictures of your darling children are great, and you are right, the beach picture with your daughter is lovely, looks professionally done!
Thanks for visiting me today. We do have TJ Maxx here, when you referred to it as TJ, I thought I was missing out on a new place to spend money!!!

I love the picture and story about the deer! How sweet! I'm sure they are really hungry after the winter. Maybe you'll see some babies this spring!
