Met Monday/ Mini Bath Update

It's time for another Met Monday. Our hostess with the mostest is Susan, @ http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/ for more make-overs follow this link.

My Met Monday Make-over is our smallish guest bath. I don't have any before pics but the walls were painted white and there was a big ugly box light above the vanity. We had a little paint left-over from our kitchen, the color is cotswold green from the Laura Ashley Collection. I personally take the colors I like and their cards to Wal-mart, where they do a computerized color match. Dutch Boy paint, which they carry, has a high rating from consumer reports so I use that and it's usually cheaper than the designer paints, so far the color matching has been right on.

i saw the curved shower poles for sale at Wal-mart and they do seem to make the shower roomier. I found the shower curtain at J.C. Penneys on sale for $20. I think it is called cottage garden and with the embroidery and the nice quality fabric I though hey what a deal! The new light fixture was purchased at Home Depot for under $30.00.

I found this cute little tin pitcher at Wally's for $5 and filled it with wildflowers from around our yard. Obviously this pic was taken last summer. My total makeover came to a grand total of $70.00, paint included. Thanks for stopping, Cindy

  1. I don't know what it looked like before, but it is just gorgeous now. What a great makeover. Don't you just love it when you can get such a fantastic designer look at a thrifty price. I think you did a great job. Hugs, Marty

  3. I'm glad to know where you can buy those curved shower rods. I've always liked them in hotel bathrooms. You're right. They definitely make the shower seem larger.

  14. Cindy your bathroom looks fabulous! The shower curtain is lovely and the wall color is perfect, so soft and pretty. It's hard to tell but I'm pretty sure we have the same light fixture only mine is in satin nickel. And of course there's nothing like fresh flowers to brighten up a room. Great job. It's hard to believe you did everything for only $70.00!!!!

  18. Cynthia, you did a wonderful job in the bathroom. Everything ties together so well and looks beautiful. We don't have a Wally's here, but I keep hearing about it. Must be a great place! Your pretty light fixture reminds me that we need to change one out in our hall bath. Lovely! Linda

  22. Cindy it's beautiful. I wonder if I should buy a curved shower curtain for our bathroom at the lake. If it helps make the shower feel roomier, I'm all for that. Your shower curtain is gorgeous!!

  23. Hi there! As I sit here this afternoon reading my favorite blogs, I'm struck by the image of all of us running around changing, redecorating, sprucing up our homes ... and it makes me smile! Your bath is precious! Is the curved rod a spring tension type? The width of the curtain doesn't matter? Standard size works?

  24. Cindy, this bathroom looks so pretty! I've never seen the curved shower curtain. It kind of gives it a look of having a vintage tub behind the curtain. I love that. That shower curtain is beautiful, and I love the wall color. laurie

  26. Cindy,

I really love what you have done with your bathroom. It is so simple & pretty and didn't break your bank! I just learned that you can match paint colors, how nice! I love Behr paints and so far have been lucky with my colors, but if I ever decided to try a designer...

The curved shower curtain rod impressed me. I wish my baths were large enough for one. The shower curtain is very pretty too!

I also read your last tablescape post and I adore the combination of the yellow and blue, very springlike. You mentioned that a few items were from TJ. Who, what, where is that?!! :-)

    xoxo

  29. Ohhh, it was fun visiting here! Lots to see and enjoy. What a lovely guest bathroom!

Enjoyed your kitty picture on the sidebar (with her pink tongue sticking out just a little -- too cute). I have one "Miss Kitty" and she certainly gives us much joy with her furry-purry company!

Please stop by for a visit -- I'd enjoy your company!
