I have been wanting to do a Autumn/Harvest table for months! And with the Holidays approaching, I thought it's now or never.
I love my harvest time dinner plates. I bought 6 of them last fall and now I just wish I could find the bowls to match. So until then, I will have a one plate table-scape. Is that permissible?
I found these cool place-mats at TJ Maxx. They are like a really thick felt type fabric. I love the design and thought they would look nice next to my white table. The rooster napkin rings are a gift from Cuisine Kathleen. Thanks Kathleen, I lover them!
I made the napkins last year and the runner too. Nothing fancy but they fit the bill.
My white gobbler was purchased last year at Home Goods. I love the white ceramic look of him. I think he was about $6.
I used my black lantern as a centerpiece. I was going to take night pics but I just ran out of time. I had little Addison over last night and she needs lots of Grandma kisses.
Here's a pic of the table runner fabric. It's very close to the plates and I was happy to find it.
Cost about $3 to make the runner.
I found these pretty gold goblets at Wally World. They were marked down to a buck a piece!
My kind of deal!
We had just a bit of sun today but mostly it was cloudy and cold. Typical November weather.
A slightly different angle.
So there you have it! My one and only Autumn table. Maybe I can do better for Christmas but I think I am just going to aim for one. Too much to do and not worth stressing over.
I have so much to be thankful for. My husband has a secure job. I have a part-time job and my children are healthy and although they have their fair share of struggles, they are mostly ok. And.....
I have this adorable and healthy little grand-daughter to be thankful for!
I am joining Susan @ Between Naps on the Porch
for Tablescape Thursday.
and
Lynn @ The Vintage Nest
for the Give Thanks Party!
Check it out Everyone!

ReplyDeleteI love your table with the black and white. I don't know if BJ from Sweet Nothings is a follower of your blog but I'm going to connect her if she isn't. She's a black and white check lover and she will be in heaven over this table.
I love your table Cindy...especially those plates, very pretty! You are one smart shopper, no need to pay more. Love that baby..so healthy and happy looking..what a joy! ;D
ReplyDeleteCindy-What a perfectly lovely tablescape. Yes! One plate works for me! It is perfect with your table runner...but by far, the most perfect part of your post is that adorable baby grand at the end! What a blessing! Hugs-Diana

ReplyDeleteHi Cindy, I was delighted you joined the Give Thanks party and your give thanks baby doll is just precious. Little grand babies are the BEST! And I heart your black and white. I love it xoxo Lynn
ReplyDeleteCindy, you had me with the lantern. Love that! And love what you did with your table. Do you want me to keep an eye out for the bowls here? I remember seeing those last year. Not sure what's out in the stores this year, but if I get out, I will keep my eyes peeled for you.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course that cute baby steals the show! What a cutie pie, and I know you are thankful for her. She's precious!
XO,
Sheila :-)
First I have to tell you how adorable your granddaughter is, Cindy! She looks about the same age as mine {4 months next week}. Isn't it great being a grandma? Who knew? : )
ReplyDeleteLove your dishes! I've been looking for something like these and I like your colors. I wanted to get either a black and white/cream or brown and white/cream. Of course, because I'm looking for something specific I'm not finding any! Great placemats and I love your runner ~ it IS very close to the plate pattern.
That is so pretty! I have those plates too, but nothing else! I got mine at HG or TJM, I forget. I love the place mats, the runner, the napkins, well everything! And those napkin rings go perfectly!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, so much to be thankful for! I have 4 little ones, that I am forever grateful for!
Yes! I'd say your blessings are just wonderful! I love your tablescape too! I have those plates in desserts, only 4 though and they are definitely very thanksgiving worthy. I would have used them myself had I more. Your setting is lovely, love the placemats too. I really love your white gobbler and your lantern! ReplyDeleteBeautiful table. I think I saw the plates at Marshalls in September or so. I do love them...I have some Frenchy little black and white salad plates that are similar. The gold goblets look so nice with the B&W. I love the lantern and the cute gobbler.
ReplyDeleteI look out your windows in your photos and it's the same here...dreary and chilly. We got the room confirmation today for Lake Geneva. Woo Hoo!! Check in is at 3:00 so maybe we can have lunch and just shop all afternoon. I'll be in touch!

ReplyDeleteCindy, this setting looks perfect on your white table. You know I'm a fan of black and white. I'll let you know if the bowls show up here. I saw some a month or so ago. I have a set of the plates in a different scene. Love them!

ReplyDeleteOMGoodness...this is a DARLING table. You are so smart and crafty to make your table runner and pretty napkins. If I lived close to you, I would arm wrestle you for those adorable place mats. I really, REALLY love them. I have solid white plates so these mats would look good with them, too. Now, of course, I am wanting black and white transferware. :)))
ReplyDeleteYour black and white theme is my very favorite of all color combos.
Thanks for sharing your pretty table and thanks for sharing that BEAUTIFUL baby girl.
Oh, yes, ma'am...we do have a LOT to be thankful for.
Hi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteYour harvest table is just beautiful. I love the black and white along with the golden goblets. You always do such a great job setting your table! You go ahead and give your 'lil sweetie those grandma kisses!!! Hugs
Lovely black and white tablesetting. It looks so inviting.
ReplyDeleteCindy
Hey, Cindy! I just saw the bowls at either TJ Maxx or Marshall's (I go so often that I forget where I've been!) here in the Kansas City area. I have those same plates and considered getting the bowls, but then backed off. If you can't find them anywhere in Wisconsin and would like for me to get them and mail them to you, just let me know! The design really is fabulous, and I just love the plates! I'm glad you were able to create such a great runner to complement them! I have NO sewing skills, so I have to rely on the retailers' good humor! :-) Have a great Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolutely perfect table setting you have created just in time for the holidays. I just love all of the different textures. But that cute lil punkin is the best! Have a very Happy Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteCindy, gorgeous black and white table...I used those plates last week and used red with them. I really like the amber stemware, great choice.
ReplyDeleteOh what a lovely table setting. I just love, love, love that lantern.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, your baby granddaughter is just beautiful..the bib say's it all!
Lovely blog!
I'm not sure how I stumbled onto your blog this morning, but I love this tablescape. I'm afraid I've grown very sloppy when it comes to setting a pretty table. I just decided that once a week, I'm going to make an effort to do something like this. You inspired me because your table is simple, but elegant. Most tablescapes, while certainly beautiful, make my checkbook cringe, which is why I guess I haven't bothered much. I love black and white toile and wish I could do our bedroom in it.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed my visit to your Giving Thanks post and your Blog. Beautiful photos and tablesetting with the black and white theme. Love that Bib and Baby! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
ReplyDeleteI do so love those dishes. They are really beautiful the way you put the table together. What a blessing in that granddaughter. She is certainly a cutie..
ReplyDeleteLovely table and so much to be thankful for!

Hi Cindy! What a pretty harvest table! I love those plates! And the lantern and turkey are the perfect centerpiece! Like you, we have had our troubles, but have much to be thankful for...especially my little grandson! They just add a whole new dimension to our lives, don't they? Yours is such a cutie! Happy weekend!...hugs...Debbie
ReplyDeleteI love your take on Thanksgiving in black and white...such a nice respite from the usual onslaught of orange and brown. Everything works so well together. Great get on the placemats, and I hope that you find the bowls to go with the plates...it a magnificent pattern. Thank you for sharing your charming design. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteWell Cindy, if you're only going to do one Fall table, this is the one to do. I love those Harvest Time plates, and your runner looks like it was made to go with that set. What a beautiful white turkey and what a deal he was! Those placemats are so unique. They look like chargers under the plates. I'm sure our Wal Mart didn't have those amber stems. they are so pretty. Of course, that precious little girl is the piece de resistance. Getting to know you has been one of my blessings. I wish you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving. laurie
ReplyDeleteHi Girlfriend...
ReplyDeleteOhhh my gosh...I am sooo slow getting around these days! Sorry I'm so late to get by to see your beautiful autumn table! Girlfriend, that black and white looks sooo pretty in your dining room...I love it! I remember when you got those beautiful plates...I would love to have a set as well! I will keep my eyes out for bowls, etc. for you! Now...those placemats are simply gorgeous...love, love, LOVE those! They frame out your pretty plates perfectly! And the black and white checked napkins and toile table runner are a perfect fit for those dishes! Soooo pretty!!! I think that your tall lantern makes such a beautiful centerpiece! Ohhh...and you know that I love your white turkey...he's awesome!!! Well dear friend, you have certainly created a gorgeous autumn table...I love it! Thank you soo much for sharing it with us!!! I just love a black and white table...sooo dressy!
Ohhh my gosh...Addison is just sooo cute in her little turkey bib!!! I sure miss getting to shop for baby girl outfits! Ohhh...and they have sooo many pretty ones these days! Hehe! Well, Thanksgiving is nearly here! What are ya'lls plans? I thought that Jenni and the kids were going to be here but she called and said they wouldn't be able to make it. So I guess it will just be Darrin, Danielle, Russ and me...just a small quiet family dinner. I will still do a turkey with all the fixin's. Sending you, Dan, and all of your sweet family lots of wishes and blessings for a Happy Thanksgiving, dear friend!!! I count you and your friendship as one of my sweetest blessings! Love ya, Girlfriend!!!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Chari
Cindy, I think your plates are very pretty, and you could easily pair them with some plain black bowl- I just got some from $Tree because I couldn't find matching bowls for a set of holiday dishes. Your gobbler is adorable, as is that humongous lantern. And of course, baby Addison is a cutie, too. Hope you and your family enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving! ♥ Sue
ReplyDeletePopping by to wish you a wonderfully Blessed Thanksgiving, Cindy! I ♥ your pretty black & white tablescape...nice punch of color with those KILLER BARGAIN stems, too!!
