I love the place mats and napkins and the heart napkin rings. I didn't have Lacey chargers so I used a lace paper doilie . The heart shaped bowls are from Michaels, only .99 cents each.
A side view.
The cake stand was a Christmas Present from my dear hubby. You can change the ribbon to fit the occasion, so cool. I had valentine ribbon from the Dollar Tree, and it worked perfectly. I spent a $1.09 for a yard of red tulle and just wrapped it around the base. The angels were all thrift store finds. I only paid .50 cents for the smaller ones and maybe $2 for the bigger one I place on the cake pedestal.
These little angels were one's I won from Glenda @ a Dab of This and That. I had them out for Christmas, but they work great for Valentine's too! The heart shaped votive came from Wally World.
I also found this angel glass candle holder at a thrift shop only .50 cents.
I found 4 British Castles dinner plates @ TJ Maxx. They were marked at 3.99 a piece, so I grabbed them up quick. I will add to them as I find pieces. $16.00 isn't bad for 4 of these dinner plates.
The little white plates are very Lacey and delicate looking. They are Noritake Ivory, only $2 for 4 of them.
But valentine dinners need to be by candlelight to get the best effect.
My artsy photos.
A stand on the chair view. Yikes!! What we won't do for blogging!
All the candles and votives are lit.
One more artsy frame.
One more view. If I was super ambitious, I would have a poem. Instead, I am having my Mom and her Beau over for dinner this Saturday night. Any menu suggestions? Great recipes? I know my dessert, lava cake from Paula Dean. But that's it! I need your ideas!! I have one more thing that Loretta sent. It's this adorable valentine heart that she made.
Isn't that great!! I love it, she is a talented lady! Go say hi and look at the pics of her home, their gorgeous!
Oh, she sent candy too, but I ate that already! It was very good!

Beautiful red and white table...love the stand on the chair shot! Your centerpiece is gorgeous...
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful and romantic tablescape, Cindy. Love all your Valentine accessories. How lucky for you to win again, congrats!...Christine
ReplyDeleteFun and fabulous table! I love the red and white and all the fun layers and textures; tulle, lace, sparklies, ribbon.... The mixing of patterns works beautifully here; the polka dots on the placemats, the trellis-like pattern on the napkins (goes with the cake stand edge) the lacy doily and the lacy, toile-like pattern of the dishes! Stunning! I love it!
ReplyDeleteCindy~~~~
ReplyDeleteThis is darling. You know I am just dying over the Old Britain Castle dishes. I have to check out TJ Maxx. Love your angels and the cake plate is so neat. I bet you'll have a lot of fun playing with ribbon. And before tablescaping, who knew to use a cake plate as a pedestal. Well, maybe I am the only one that didn't!! lol
Everything is so nice, Cindy. You outdid yourself!
xoxo
Jane
HI Cindy! What a beautiful table! All of it is just gorgeous. I love all the red and white...but I mostly like your layered plates and how you set the whole scene. Just wonderful!

That is the most beautiful holiday table! I am going to borrow your idea of using the doily underneath. Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteSusan
What an adorable Valentine table. Really sweet. I am suffering here because I cannot get to anything..Valentine or otherwise. Perhaps by Valentines Day I will be able to at least find some of my hearts. I hope.
ReplyDeleteHow on earth did you do that "artsy frame!" I see all sorts of things on here and wonder how people do it. I have a new red and white kitchen so I have to content with that!
Congratulations on winning the giveaway!
P.S. WAIT! You mom has a ...new friend? Really?
ReplyDeleteBless her heart! Tell her I am thinking of her.
Hugs,
Mona

Cindy, this is beautiful! Love those place mats and napkins. I can't think of a better person to have won those. That cake stand is beautiful, and how great your V'tine ribbon looks with it. You did get a great deal on the Britsh Castle plates. I think you'll be using those a lot. This post would be great for my party link-up. laurie
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy,

I hope you have an awesome party with family Thanks so much for sharing your creativity and your great photos.
ReplyDeleteHi sweet friend...
ReplyDeleteOhhh Cindy, your Valentine's table is one of the most beautiful that I've seen!!! Girl, you really outdid yourself on this fabulous tablescape...it's gorgeous!!! It's my very favorite to date that you've done!!! Of course, you know how I love all that red and white! Hehe! Girlfriend, those placemats and napkins that Loretta made are gorgeous!!! They framed out your pretty place settings so perfectly! Love, love, LOVE THEM!!! She is really a talented lady! I love your little heart that she made you too! Pretty, pretty...PRETTY place settings!!! I have seen that Noritake pattern and it is gorgeous...I love the look of lace on the rims! Ohhh...and I adore those darling heart shaped bowls! I'm going to have to check Michaels out...would love those! And...of course you know that I'm in love with your red transferware! This is just the perfect place setting for Valentine's Day! Ohhh...your mama and new beau will be so impressed!!! Sounds like a fun date!!! Okay...now I want to talk about your fabulous centerpiece! It's gorgeous!!! Isn't that hubby of yours the best? I love that pedestal cake plate! Dan has great taste...he did GOOD! Hehe! I just love all these dishes with the reticulated edges so that you can weave a pretty ribbon in and out of them!!! Love, love, LOVE how you did the red tulle and I love the pretty red bangles and how you nestled that precious angel into the center of it! Soooo very pretty, Cindy!!! Ahhh...this is just the most beautiful Valentine's table...so very romantic!!! Ya'll have a fabulous dinner date!!! Hmmmm...I'm not the one to ask about menus! Hehe! I cook but I don't like to! Hehe!
Well...not to much going on here this week! I did get my Valentine's table together yesterday...still going with that white and silver theme! Everyone is probably getting sick of it by now but I've been having so much fun with it! Hehe! I was hoping to get photos of it today but it's snowing right now...have a feeling it's going to be a gray, dreary day! I have learned that if I want good photos that I have to have lots of good sunlight coming in. I think it's my camera...but all my photos turn out blurred without the good lighting. A better camera is on my wishlist! Hehe! Of course, I don't know if I would know what to do with one! I actually have more fun with the photos than doing the tablescapes! I think I want to be a photographer when I grow up! wink! Well Darlin'...so glad that you came by for a visit! You are my "ray of sunshine", sweet friend!!!
Love ya,
Chari

ReplyDeleteAnd girl, you made out like a bandit with those goodies. I'm happy for you!
One of those little angels looks like you! :-) She's so sweet and pretty!
As far as recipes, I love chicken dishes. How about a hot chicken casserole? That sounds warm, rich, and good right about now. There used to be one that had potato chips on the top and lots of cheese! YUM! Can you tell I'm hungry??? ;-)
I'm up for air for the next two days. Am going to try to blog. I wish I could borrow your sweet Mr. Applestone for a few days to help me. Lots going on here, and not much getting done. Sigh. That's why I thought I would break and do something creative. I actually wrote that post a year ago (or most of it)... so that tells you how behind I am. LOL!
XO,
Sheila :-)
Hi Cindy! Thanks for coming over for a visit. I'll try and get the tutorial finished before the weekend is over.
ReplyDeleteI love your Valentines Day tablescape. It looks so sweet and festive. Just perfect for the holiday!

Lovely photos too.

Happy Stupid Bowl day to you Cindy...Girl thanks for coming by and seeing me..I hope to get something done in this pig pen I call home today...I'm so far behind with not feeling well..Oh I wished I had a maid or a nose like Samatha on bewithed ha ha!! Hope you have a GREAT day my Dear friend...Hugs and smiles love ya sis...Gl♥ria
ReplyDeleteLove all the reds and whites here!! I will be in Charleston for valentine's day--so no table setting for me ;-)
ReplyDeleteYour tablescape is gorgeous! I love Valentine's Day & the decor for this holiday, though I'm not quite ready for it yet, lol. I guess it's because I feel like I just took down the Christmas decorations & am just now getting my house back to "normal". Anyway, for your dinner menu, I am thinking a decadent pasta dish would be good. Maybe cheese & spinach-filled manitcotti smothered in a homemade marinara sauce? You could also make a salad with baby greens & homemade balsamic vinaigrette, & garlic bread.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love your blog. It is warm and homey. Lots of inspiration for a valentine table.
