So I just realized how long it's been since I posted! I started writing this post shortly after Easter ( see little Addison hugging the Easter bunny). Well my friends, so much has happened and I got a little off track.
Our 2 yr. old grand-daughter Calista modeling the dress I made her for Easter.
Boy time has flown.
And little Addison modeling the dress I made her for Easter. I am still sewing as much as I have time for.
But as you can see by this picture things were still pretty bare back in April.
Tulips and daffodils have bloomed and are long gone.
And the lilacs as well.
After a long cold winter, and a cool spring it's so nice to have warm sunny days!
June is bursting out all over.
And there have been changes...oh so many changes.
My Mom's cat has 5 new baby kittens.
And one little girl is very in love.
My husband Dan is retiring from teaching after 33.5 years.
His last day with kids was this past Friday.
He is not retiring from working though. He started a new job in March and has been working there part time until he finished up the school year.
To say it's been stressful is an understatement.
And I've been sewing.....
And sewing
And sewing some more! My goal is to have an Etsy shop up and running by this fall.
Any suggestions for names would be welcome too.
I will be selling handcrafted little girls clothing and maybe a few boy outfits as well.
So keep me in mind please, I will update here.
On a sad note, my dear father-in law passed away this past April.
It's been a sad time for my husband and his family, especially his dear Mom.
Like I said, so many changes in such a short time.
Take care friends and cheers to June!
Cindy
I really enjoyed seeing all of your pretty sewing projects and the picture of those adorable kitties, too. I am sorry to hear about your father-in-law. Sending my sincere condolences to your family at this time. Losing a loved one is never an easy thing. ((Hugs)) to all of you.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see a new post, Cindy. So many changes happening! I love the little outfits you've been working on. Good luck with the shop.
ReplyDeleteLovely post, Cindy ... why not call your shop "Applestone" .....
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for you to get your Etsy opened! I am having another granddaughter in Sept., so you can bet I will be looking at those adorable little girl outfits. I agree with Helen. I like Applestone. laurie
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for your loss, Cindy. Your little gals are both just adorable! And your sewing is fantastic! Good luck with your Etsy shop.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Beth
Sorry to read about your family's loss.
ReplyDeleteYour grands are so cute modeling their new outfits. Wishing you much success with your shop.
Sweet furbabies makes me wish I could get another kitty, but with allergies it is not going to happen.
Congrats to your husband on his retirement. Y'all have really had a lot going on.
those outfits are too precious and so are the models...you have a had a lot of changes...hope all is going well...love all the photos...
ReplyDeleteYour poor mother in law. What a terrible time for her. I remember it well.
ReplyDeleteThose little outfits are adorable. I used to sew..not so much anymore. Just altering things..but no clothing. I think of it..but haven't the patience for it I guess.
Adorable little grand daughters. I remember when both girls were born! The time has flown by, Cindy!
Because of you, I had our home trimmed in the red. I still love it. Changing my colors on the porch to apple green and pale straw yellow with touches of the red. I get on these kicks...LOL
Big hugs to you.
Love,
Mona
Hi Cindy, I've been wondering how you are doing. So sorry to hear of your loss. You all will need to focus on the happy memories. I still miss my dad after all these years, but I smile whenever I think of something that I do or think because of his influence, and it helps. Your little angels are looking as cute as ever, and I wish you so much good luck with your shop. If I ever have a little girl to shop for again I will be there in a flash! Linda
ReplyDeleteYour granddaughters are growing so fast and they are the best dressed girls because their grandma is such a talented seamstress....Christine
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy. What gorgeous lilacs and I love the darling outfits.
ReplyDeleteHope you are enjoying the summer!
Sorry to hear of the loss of your Mother in law. Your granddaughters are beautiful! Love the dresses!
ReplyDeleteCindy, I have been MIA, too, and I am so sorry about your loss. Please tell Dan we send warm hugs, too.
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing the girls. Growing up so fast! And he kitty! Has your mom moved back full time? Or does she still go to Florida? I keep hoping we will hook up one day!
Sending great big hugs!

I meant to say Father-in-law, so sorry. I was thinking of you today, hope all is well. Miss your posts!
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy -- I, too, was missing in action for months -- also lots of changes.
ReplyDeleteBut I wandered back to your blog through Kathleen's (Cuisine Kathleen) and had to offer my condolences on the loss of your father-in-law. It's so hard to lose them. I hope your mother-in-law is doing better now.
And I want to wish your hubby best of luck in his new ventures, and you --have you put up an Etsy shop yet? Do you have a name for it? I'd be happy to mention it on my blog -- your children's clothes are so adorable!
Hope all is well with you, my blogging inspiration!
Cass
I don't know if you will even see this since it's been several months since you wrote this post. Like you, things just got in the way of my blog. I'm trying to get back to reading my favorites and also writing on my own. Will just have to see how it goes. Did you ever get your etsy shop up and running? Wonder what name you decided on. I love the name of your blog...I'm sure you came up with a delightful one for your shop. I retired after 31 1/2 years of teaching...it was stressful for me to give it up but I knew it was time. Hope your hubby is enjoying his new job and has adjusted to being out of his classroom. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteMy sweet friend...
ReplyDeleteI know you are up to your eyeballs in life, but I wanted to drop by and say that I hope your Christmas was a merry one and that your New Year will be happy!
I miss you, but I truly understand that life ebbs and flows. We will be patient until yours starts to shift back to a time when you can blog. We do miss you so!
Hope everyone is well and enjoying life.
Love you,
Sheila :-)
Hi Cindy! OH, I hope you can get back to blogging too. I love to keep up with all you're doing and love seeing what you're sewing for the little girls. I need to start doing that for Carter. Thanks for popping in to see me.
ReplyDeletebe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
It's been awhile. I'm just checking in. Did you open your Esty shop? What's happening?
