With love in the air, I thought I would share some wedding photos with my blogging friends. My hubby and I were married in 1997. This was a second marriage for both of us and we became an instant blended family. My teenage son Joshua, my daughter Katie and my step-son Jacob. Katie and Jacob are the same age, only 4 weeks apart! To see them all grown up, scroll to the bottom of this blog. We were married at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. This church was made famous by the song Little Brown Church in the Vale. Every year thousands of couples are married here or return to renew their vows. ( click on any pic to enlarge)
A friend of my Mom's recently sent me some old slides from my parents wedding. They did not have the money for professional pics , so I was really happy to have them. The slides had deteriorated a bit, but were still not too bad for 1955. My dad passed away 2 years ago next month so I was really thrilled to get these. I have six brothers who all resemble him in some ways. Thanks for joining me on my stroll down memory lane! P. S. ( the 1st song on my playlist was their song, Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers )
what precious pictures. you were a beautiful bride! your parents pictures have to really be neat to have.
ReplyDeleteA lovely and romantic post for this Valentine's Day. You made a gorgeous bride! And you all look so happy.
ReplyDeleteIt's a treasure to have pictures of your parents' wedding. My parents eloped to North Carolina during the Second World War, and there are no wedding pictures. I wish we had some!
Thanks for sharing.... Cass
Cynthia, my dad passed away two years ago in March, my parents' song is Unchained Melody and most of my parent's wedding pictures are slides, too!
ReplyDeleteCindy, I loved this share! Growing up, we always sang "Little Brown Church in the Vale"~ How wonderful you got married there. Blended families are lovely, we have one too. ;) ~CC Catherine
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful picture of your wedding and what a beautiful family too. The pictures of your parents wedding are precious. I have very few pictures of my parents wedding because most of the pictures were on 3-D slides. I tried to have them made into pictures so I could give them a wedding album as a 50th Wedding Anniversary gift but the slides were cut in such a way that it did not fit anyones equipment. Thanks for sharing!
Cindy, great pictures to share on Valentine's Day! You and your blended family are beautiful - and I enjoyed seeing the kids all grown up at the bottom. You are so lucky to have the pictures of your parents - Sweet that you are playing their song also!!!!!! :D Jewel
ReplyDeleteOHHH I loved seeing your wedding pictures. You both look wonderful...I love your dress! That must have been interesting blending a family...especially with two kids the same age. But they grew up nicely (I peeked at the pictures at the bottom) so it looks like everything worked out very well. Happy Valentines day to you all!
