Pretty in Pink! Or Baby Shower on the Brain.

I don't know if it's the heat or planning a baby shower but my brain is turning to mush!  We hit a heat index of 105 today and the humidity has been just horrible.  I feel like I'm living in the deep south instead of Wisconsin.
There's nothing fun to do outside when it's this hot!   So I thought I would take a break from my baby shower planning and show you a few things I have been working on.
The diaper cake ( pictured above and below)

This was fun to do and I want to thank Julie @ The Harwards, for providing such good tutorials.

And some of the little baby booty favors I have been making.  These are so cute and pretty easy, but they are time consuming.   And I burned myself more times than I can remember, putting on little bows with the hot glue gun.
But my daughter loves them!   And they sure beat going out and buying a bunch of party favors.

And speaking of daughters.   Katie is pictured here, (the pregnant one)  with one of my best friend's daughter and her baby girl.
Baby Gianna was born in May and this was the first time we got to see her.
My friends daughter, hubby and baby live in Florida but they didn't get to escape the heat this time.
And as you can see, my daughter Katie is pretty prego.  She is 32 weeks and with the heat she is getting pretty weary.
So I am going to make this quick.  I need to get back to baby shower cooking.
Take Care and I will visit you all as soon as I can.

Cindy

  8. The diaper cake is really cute.

I get a kick out of the young mom's today going back to cloth diapers to be green. We didn't have a clue about being green back in OUR day when WE used them - - - we just didn't have much other choice!

I had two babies that used cloth, then paper diapers got perfected and I switched over for the last two.

  9. HI CINDY!!!
oh the baby shower things are so cute!!Isn't Pink such a fun color to work with!!Sorry about the hot glue gun burns!!But it sounds like your heat index is a burn in itself!!!OH MY! humidity is what I can not tolerate, if it is a dry heat it does not feel so bad, as least it is cool in the shade!!
Katie looks adorable, so ready to pop that baby out!!The last few weeks will fly by, has she been going to baby classes, so she knows what to expect!!You are going to be in there for the delivery, right???It is amazing, of course I did not have any natural births, so I was quite surprised what an ordeal it is, pain not so bad with an epidural!!
She will be a Great little MOmmy to this Princess!!!I have a gift for her, I better get it in the mail, is the shower this weekend???If so It will be late!!
    hugs,
    jamie

  11. The diaper cake is so fun! And the little booties with tulle in them, just as pretty as can be. It looks like it's going to be a fabulous shower!!
You are right... the heat and humidity are horrible right now. Our temps these past 2-3 weeks have been in the 98-105 range but the heart index put us way up in the 107-114 range so it's just miserable outside unless we are submerged in a pool.

  12. Everything is adorable! You are very talented! The heat here is unreal. Heat index today was 110 mid-day, and think it got higher later this afternoon.

(silly girl, get a low heat glue gun, they hardly hurt at all!)
Katie looks so cute. SHe is getting big! I'll bet she is ready - but NO HURRY! Keep that little one nice and safe where it is until it's time.

God bless and have a blast!

Side note: Mom and I were gettin' my much younger sister ready to go to a (baby) shower when she popped up and said, " why can't I just take a shower her at home...I don't want to do it in front of a bunch of people!) Mom and I burst into grand laughter.

  25. You are very creative. Baby showers are so much fun.

Your daughter looks beautiful. I love the maternity clothes styles that I see lately with the snugger fit, baby bump show off styles. I'm so glad the big tent like clothing days are over.

  28. Oh Cindy Sweetie...
What a beautiful share you have. I love seeing your sweet little gal almost to the end of her 9 months. She is just so beautiful. How exciting for you. You are getting a little bundle of joy to love. A grandbaby.

In May I made about 60 of those little booties too out of the styrofoam cups, I put blue diaper pins on mine. Filled them up with goodies and they were so stinkin darn cute. I love yours with the little bows. How precious.

Love the diaper cake too. Cindy it looks like you gals had a great time. Thank you for sharing sweet friend.

Many hugs and much love, Sherry

  29. Cindy, what fun working on the shower. I am helping with one of my daughter's showers, too. Hers is next Sunday the 22nd. I love those favors you have made. I should have done something like that. My daughter's best friend who is hosting the shower is done B for baby, with a Bee theme. She wanted me to get sugar cookies iced and decorated with a bee on them for the favors, but they would have cost $4 a piece times 30. I don't think so. I also have to get the cake. We have decided to do pink m&ms instead in cellophane bags that she already had for the cookies. I am going to make tags this week for the bags of candy. The next shower I am not helping with. I will just enjoy that one. Your daughter is so cute. I know you are very excited.

  33. 105!!! Good grief, Cindy! My girlfriend lives in Las Vegas and she is the only one I can think of that beats you with that number. Of course I will NEVER forget the year that Riverside reached 110! I have never forgiven it...probably never will! :)

A baby shower! I do love baby showers, nearly as much as I love the babies! :) Well...it's the truth! Especially when the someone like you is creating for it! I cannot WAIT to see!

I saw those little party favors and it was an immediate "ahhhh...." You know what I mean..that..sigh of, OH the cuteness of it all??

Enjoy! :) Take lots and lots of pictures!
    Hugs and love,
