My Fabulous Arizona Trip!!

And oh what fun it was, but the time flew by way too quickly.  The only pic  I have of Dan and I together during our trip to the AZ Zoo.  We arrived on Wednesday afternoon and quickly headed over to our hotel and then to my son Josh and wife Dawn's apartment.   Oh joy, I miss them so much!   Josh took us to see the house they are building, it should be ready by the first of December.  This is their first home and I am so excited for them even if it is 1800 miles away!

In their soon to be finished kitchen!  They are both so excited!!

But first let me take you back to their Wedding Day 3 years ago.  They were married in Madison, Wisconsin where they both attended college and took up residence and jobs after they graduated.  Here they are pictured with beautiful Lake Monona and the State Capital as their backdrop.

It was a gorgeous although very hot day in June 2006.

Dan and  I all spiffed up !

Katie and I .  She is 16 here, 19 now and a grown- up young woman.  I just wanted to share a few of these pics with you, I hope you don't mind. Josh and Dawn gave me a copy of their Wedding CD and it was so fun to look back at their pics.   After spending a wonderful day with Josh, (he is a teacher in Tempe) and was able to take  a personal day we headed back to our motel tired and happy.   I need to rest up because tomorrow is the blogger tea party! I am so excited to meet some of these lovely ladies!  Marty @ A Stroll thru Life and Sherry @  Country Wings in Phoenix got the ball rolling.  Aren't they just the greatest gals!  I am so grateful that I was able to attend.  This is the best part about blogging, getting to meet the lovely women  we have connected with.

My friend Linda T. on the left and new friend Laura on the right.  Linda picked me up at our hotel and we got to reconnect after 35 years!  We knew each other  through our 4-H years and she attended high school with my Husband Dan.  We found each other again through blogging!!  Now how cool is that!  Linda is such a warm ,delightful person and if you get a chance check out her lovely blog at Reminise... this and that.

And the biggest surpise of all!!  Karen from Some Days are Diamonds !  I feel like I've known her forever!  Marty and Karen were able to keep it a secret that Karen would be attending and boy oh boy did they do well!!!  Karen made a six hour drive from LA.   I about fell over when I looked over and saw the lovely Karen standing next to me.  It was a priceless moment, and one I will never forget!

I hate to say it but I only have a few pics to share, I was way too busy yakking!  I have a feeling lot's of you have seen plenty of pics on the other gals blogs.

Our oh so lovely table!!

After the party some of us headed over to the dollar tree.  Ceekay checking out some cute little Christmas Mugs.  On Friday after the blog party we headed out with Josh and Dawn. Saturday, my brother Tom drove in from Flagstaff.  We spent the day visiting and having a great time.     It was a wonderful glorious trip and one I will never forget!!!  Hugs to all of you......... Cindy

  1. Cindy, are your ears burning??? I was just thinking of you. First of all, I loved seeing the wedding pics, and you looked stunning! You also look so much like one of my sister's best friends whom I love dearly. And what fun to get to see your son's new home AND to visit with bloggy friends. I am so happy you girls got together. And just look at that Ceekay and Dollar Tree... just be glad I wasn't with y'all because I am a corrupting influence. If it's one cup, why not just buy a dozen??? It would have been like that, I'm sure. ;-)

Okay, our computer network crashed this morning, and I was mad as a wet hen because I didn't get to finish Blue Monday. So I just went shopping and had a great time. I saw all sorts of things, but I saw a few apple things that immediately made me think of Applestone Cottage. As a matter of fact, I can't see an apple now without thinking Cindy! :-)

    Sending you much love...

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

I love your pixie hairdo, so cute on you. So nice to see family and you are obviously so loved with people driving several hours just to see you. I know it must have been so much fun chatting with blogging friends face to face but the surprise of Karen's appearance is priceless....Christine

  23. Cindy, I'm so happy that you had a good visit with both your family and your blogging pals! Have you met other blogging friends before? It has proven to be a fun experience for me. The Bodacious Buckeye Bloggers have plans for after the new year. Some of us have already met and become friends, and we are looking forward to meeting the others. Isn't it just amazing how we feel such a kinship to one another? Non- blogging buddies of mine just don't understand, and I've heard the same lament from other bloggers as well. Something about there being too many crazy cyber-stalkers out there!!! LOL That just cracks me up!

I swear...I'm like a goose that wakes up in a new world every day...because it didn't dawn on me when you were talking about your trip that you were going to get to attend the blogging party! It wasn't until I seen Marty's photos of the party that I realized that you were there! By the way...I loved all her photos...and my friend, you are such a beautiful woman!!! I have to admit that I was a bit green with envy...I sure would have loved getting to meet you!!! Hmmm...maybe some day, eh? If that wasn't the most awesome thing ever...Karen flying clear out to Arizona just to meet you!!! That is so sweet!!! I'm so happy for you, Darlin'!!! 25. You weren't the only one surprised. I was at another blog, saw the headline for the AZ bloggers' meeting in her blog roll, clicked over to see if any of the AZ bloggers I follow were there, and saw you...and then Karen. Boy was I confused!LOL!

It looks like you all had a wonderful time visiting family and friends. The wedding photos were lovely too!

  28. Cindy, just popping over to answer your question. I actually did write for "St. Augustine Magazine," and when I was working in economic development in another city, I worked on development brochures and wrote promotional lit. But it is so easy to write about St. Augustine because I love it so much. It's a very sweet town. It is a small town that lives large and has a great big heart. It's the perfect combo of Florida kitsch and rich history. That's what makes it fun. It's a nice town for people of all ages because you can stroll the streets at night, etc. I hope you do get to come some day! Would love to meet you!

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

  29. I loved seeing the wedding pictures. I know how hard it is to be away from your kids. My daughter is 1000 miles away and single. I hate it, but I'm happy for her. The luncheon looks like such fun. I'm glad it was a great trip!

  30. Cindy,
Thanks for sharing all the photos. It's always fun to see wedding photos and how special that the young couple are building a house. The bloggers lunch looked like a great time was had by all. I've read about it on several blogs. I'm so impressed with the amazing friends out there in the world of blog. I've only had the opportunity to meet Laurie of Bargaining Hunting and Chatting with Laurie, but correspond from time to time with others. I've had such fun visiting blogs since beginning this journey last August.
