Harvest Table/TT Thursday

Welcome to Tablescape Thursday with our hostess Susan @  Between Naps on the Porch.  Join her and the rest of the participants for tables galore! I am also joining Leigh for Thrifty Thursday please check our her beautiful blog.     A couple things I learned this past week.  Don't try to wash your braided rugs in the washing machine, don't  argue with a sick teenager- it's like  tangling with a skunk and don't try to finish your tablescape on the day you  spend time in the emergency room with previously  mentioned sick teenager and then open a case with a new family, (I am an outreach worker and I work with families who children have been removed from the home and it can be very emotionally draining) enough said.  So without any   further excuses I give you my Harvest Table.

Tom Turkey is centerstage!  He was purchased at T.J. Maxx and I loved him because of his creamy white color.  My plates are Royal Stafford ( Hay Ride) also from T.J. Maxx.   I found these last winter for only $3 a plate and I have not been able to find the bowls yet but I will keep a lookin.   I made the napkins and runner last week-end and what I was so happy about was that the runner has a very similar print as the plates.

I  used red placemats from the dollar tree for a dash of color, and  the tablecloth is white battenberg lace from  K-Mart marked down to $5.  YOOHOO!  It had been $27 but for $5 it was mine.  The napkin ring holders were also a thrift store find and they are so cute!  There's a chicken, pig, rabbit and duck!

A closer look at the edge.  I love that lacy look!

The little dessert plates are a lenox pattern and they were brand new and only $1.99 for all four. I love the lacey delicate look.

A closer look of my centerpiece!  Red chunky candles, Mr. Turkey on a silver platter (also a thrift store find) and some Autumn decor to round it out.

Another view.  Thanks for coming by and I am starting to really get excited about the upcoming holidays~!  But then I kind of get that anxious feeling about all the things that need to get done.  Happy Thursday,   Cindy

Hello Cindy!!
I really love your table. I have these dishes and they look great with those checked napkins!
I'm looking forward to flying to Seattle on Saturday so that I can get my home there ready for Thanksgiving and have some fun with table settings. I don't have anything this week as I'm busy getting ready to be gone from my sweet little condo in Southern California for a full 6 weeks!!
Blessings...

Ok, I've been browsing and I know I shouldn't have a favorite tablescape but you are using my favorite decorating colors! Love the table. Love it that it's all budget friendly. You go girl!

Cindy-I love your table but you had me laughing too. Teenagers are a little like skunks at times--and you know who always loses :) Love the napkin rings and you are so smart to be able to make your own napkins and runner. I bet your job is very rewarding sometimes but I can't imagine the emotion drain! Glad you had a "happy" table!

This is one of my favorite tablescapes. I ♥ the black and white plates on the red placemats. Your napkins and tablerunner go perfect with everything on the table. The centerpiece is really nice with the turkey, gourds and and red candles.

Hello Dearheart...

Ohh my...it sounds like you've been through the wringer lately, Darlin'! I'm so sorry! Sending you big hugs and prayers, my friend! I hope that all is well with Katie...but I'm worried now that you said that you had to take her to the ER! I'll be praying for her!!!

Well Darlin'...I was so excited to see your pretty toile runner and black & white checked fabric the other day...couldn't wait to see what you did with them and I'm soooo impressed! What a stunning table! I love the elegant black & white with the pretty red! It's just a winning color combination! Love your "Hayride" plates...oooh, isn't the pattern on the rims just gorgeous? Love it! You know, I think I seen the bowls to this set at our TJ Maxx but its been several weeks ago. I sure will check for them next time I go! Now...I have to tell you that I just adore the black & white checked napkins and I love how you placed them at the top of the plate...they look like little bow ties! Sooo pretty! And the farm animal napkin rings are just too cute! Girlfriend, I love the dessert plates...so that is a pattern done by Lennox? Wow you got a great deal on them! I love the beautiful lacy pattern on them! You did a fabulous job with the centerpiece...love, love, LOVE the creamy white Tom Turkey! Ohhh..he's got to be the prettiest turkey ever! Love how you added the pretty pumpkins and red berries to the centerpiece too! Wow...what a deal you got on the Battenburg lace tablecloth...Girl, you made off like a bandit on that one and it's so lovely!!!

Well my dear, sweet friend...I do hope that tomorrow will bring a better day for you! Love ya, Sweetie!

Beautiful table!! So Sorry you have had to deal with the work issue. My Sister had a job that dealt with so much of that and her husband made her give it up because it took such an emotional toll on her. Bless you for what you do.

Cindy, I love it! I saw similar plates (may have been those) in Home Goods the other day. Do you want me to call them and see if they have bowls??? Just let me know.

You did a great job with this, Cindy, and I for someone who had a bad day, your table turned out well. I love that you got such good deals, too. That makes it even sweeter!

Sending you love and hopes that your week gets better...

XO,

Sheila :-)

Hi Cindy! Your table is so pretty! I love the black, white and red. Your dishes are so pretty and aren't you the smartest one making those pretty napkins and table runner to match! Your centerpiece is just the most beautiful! Thank you Cindy for popping in to see me and all your sweet comments.
Be a sweetie,

Cindy, You must work well under pressure, because this tablescape is so pretty. I love the china and the black and white napkins. I love the way the napkins almost look like big bows at the top of the plates. I can't believe the price on those dessert plates. They look like the pattern "Moonspun", which is my wedding china, but mine don't have those pretty ruffley edges. I sure hope you're able to relax this weekend! laurie

Cindy --

I love your tablescape! I saw those same dishes at Marshall's and some lady basically elbowed me out of the way and scooped them all up. I was hestitating about getting them so I guess it serves me right. "He who hestitates is lost" (or loses out on some great dishes!).

Cindy, love that table! I'm a Ga. Bulldog and our colors are red and black, plus I love, love, love toile. Beautifully done! Linda

I love your tablescape!!! I didn't get mine done in time. My only excuse is that I procrastinated too long. Maybe by next Thursday it will be done. I love those plates. I saw them at Marshall's some time back & I toyed with the thought of getting them. But I already have 2 sets of black & white dishes, so I didn't get them. Boo hoo!!! I hope you find the bowls someday. I love your napkins & runner. I always buy fabric thinking I will sew me up some, but I never do. It's that procrastination thing again. It's a wonder I get anything done to blog about. Thanks for visiting my blog & leaving me a comment on my Thanksgiving mantel. I'm hoping to post my china hutch photos some time today.

CUTE!! :) You never fail to amaze me! :)

What is black & white & READ all over...blogland? Your wonderful table, that's what! Fab dishes & super job on that runner & napkins to go with them. Your turkey is simply divine & I am totally jealous of all that lacey stuff you've got going on. I ♥ LACE!!!

Very nicely done, Cindy & I'm glad you told me where to find your comment button. I went to my settings & then to "comments" to see if there is a way to change that. Mine is marked "full page". Maybe if your's isn't marked that way, you could try changing it just to see if it makes a difference? Just a thought.

Stunning look with the black and red. Yay, red for Thanksgiving! It really works with the plates, which I'm also loving. They would be pretty with a really nice yellow too but I love that you went with red.
