Please Bear with me, one more Patriotic Tablescape

Please bear with me, and I mean bear! I saw another one today and I am thinking of changing my name to Cindy Bear! This one was right in my front yard! They are getting a little close for comfort! I screamed bloody murder, the bear eyeballed me and I eyeballed him and I ran! Hubby came running out of the bathroom and saw him as he headed across the road and into the woods! Now the thing is, it was 10:30 a.m. and he was in my front yard coming near my flower bed! I think he is the same one I saw less than 2 weeks ago, because he came out of the same side of the woods! Yikes! I think I need to carry a weapon or pepper spray when I go out to weed my garden!

Now onto my patriotic table! I know I'm late, but I just had to pull out my plates that fit this occasion so well! Notice the view, the bear is missing, but he was in that very yard, near the light pole. My tablecloth is my favorite country living red one!

I used my blue pottery filled with baby's breath and golden showers from my garden. The shakers were $1 at a yard sale and I found the cute little red chair while we were on vacation.

I used my white nubby place mats from TJ Maxx, the white plates are garage sale finds as are the white bowls. Red checked napkins from Wally World.

My patriotic plates! I love these! I have 5 now, 4 bought on E-bay for only 3.50 a plate. They are Liberty Blue ironstone made by Staffordshire. The wine glasses are my Mom's.

The little star votive holders are from Wal-mart and I picked up the white star candle holder while shopping on our vacation.

One more view! I hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July, enjoy time with your families, we have a family get-together on Saturday and I am looking forward to seeing some cousins! Thanks to Susan for hosting this lovely event every week, how does she do it!!! Happy 4th!! Cindy

  2. Hi, Cindy... I love tablescapes. You could do them all day long, and I'd love it!

Great price on the Staffordshire plates! And what a cute little red chair and wonderful enamel pitcher with your flowers. Your mother's glasses work perfectly, too. Another fun, festive tablescape, girl!

    Happy Fourth!

    Sheila :-)

  3. Be careful with the bear Cindy! I live in our town's downtown, as urban as my town gets and 2 years ago there was a bear in the parking lot of a store 2 blocks from my house!!!!!

I love your table. That tablecloth is so pretty as is the pitcher. I love those plates at any price - even better since you got bargains!!!!

Have a wonderful 4th. Glad you enjoyed the NC mountains, but you were still 5 hrs from me. If you ever get to the NC coast let me know. :D Jewel

lovely flowers. It looks so inviting!
I can't believe you saw a bear! I would freak out! We have deer, racoons, and a few coyotes...but no bears, whew!

  5. Cindy, pretty table! Love all the red, white and blue! About bears, our son & family were headed today from Atlanta to Charlotte, NC, and they said there was a bear - dead -on highway 85 just outside of Atlanta - soooo unusual for our big city life! Yikes! Linda

  7. Hi Cindy. Your tablescape is gorgeous! I love the pitcher and flowers and the dishes are beautiful. If you're going to get some pepper spray for the bear make sure it is one that is the right strength for bears. I've been told the regular strength spray does not affect them. They will go for anything that smells like food like your barbeque grill, bird feeders and yes the apple trees! Just last night I read a story in our local paper about a man who was in his driveway packing his car for a business trip when a black bear knocked him to the ground to get at the sandwich he had packed away for his trip. Please be careful! Have a safe and fun 4th of July celebration with yur family! Hugs, Loretta

  11. Hey there! Are you in a drought area? is he looking for water or a better food source? Do you have an animal control you can call? We saw one in Yellowstone last weekend, I've never seen one there before. It was a 3 year old cub and he was just cute as can be foraging through the plants eating all the berries. But in your yard is another thing. Out here, it seems they are usually out at night, but occasionally they make the 4 o'clock news. We are a very suburban neighborhood. You seem to be more out in the countryside. I'm surprised you haven't seen more! Pepper spray or bear spray - they both do the trick. Just carry it with you if you are nervous gardening.
Somebody come up with SNAKE SPRAY for me please! I'll take a bear any day of the week over rattler. YUCK!
Your table just looks so inviting. Makes you want to sit down and just have a nice long lunch and chat the entire afternoon away. sigh. Maybe someday - huh?
Have a happy and SAFE 4th! Hugs. Karen
Wow, can you tell the bear got me all excited?

About the bear ... yikes! The pepper spray sounds like a good idea. Do they make one that shoots really far?

  16. This is very pretty. I love your plates. The little red chair is so cute. Maybe you should have put out some red, white and blue for the bear. He may have felt left out!

I am hosting a Christmas in July Tablescape Party at my Playing Dishes blog. There will be one held each Saturday this month. Please come and participate or at least visit. A holiday tablecloth will be given away on the last Saturday, July 25. Info on signups is available by clicking my sidebar memes available on both my blogs.

I am also having a weekly Christmas giveaway at my Christmas Memories in My Heart blog. Weekly entries are closed out a midnight on Wednesday for this.

Hopefully some of you tablescape regulars will pull together a tablescape for CIJ or pull out some photos from last year to post.

    Happy CIJ!

  19. Cindy, Cindy! I missed visiting your blog! I'm so sorry for not having done so in a while... That table is amazing my friend and I wasn't thinking of setting an ID table but... you'll have to visit to see what I mean. ;-)

Sometimes, blogger is so slow and sometimes like tonight, it opened up a gazillion windows of the same blog, after I commented! I had to reboot! Also, I'm learning how to bake and is frantically trying to entertain two under 12 kiddos while keeping them cool! Ya, just a tad busy. LOL

I will try to do better... ;-)
