Hi friends,
With all of the snow we recently received, I am truly catching the Christmas spirit.
And the knitted Nordic style ornaments above,
hand-knitted by my sweet MIL are some of my favorite things!
Knitted from an old Norwegian pattern they certainly fit well in our home. My hubby is 100 percent Norwegian heritage. In fact the little town he grew up in in Western Wisconsin is full of Norskes!
The other thing I love are Christmas plaids! I can't get enough and my tablecloth was a new purchase for only $9.99 at Tuesday Morning. My chargers were last season wally world. .75 a piece.
Dinner plates also Wally.
The cardinal plates were purchased at a local gift shop.
Snow flake glassware, dollar tree.
My centerpiece is a birch type basket filled with my MIL's ornaments and pine-cones.
A little red popped in for good measure.
Snowmen s & p, JC Penney's a freebie I think.
Those jingle bell napkin rings were also an after Christmas find, like .25 a piece!
I try to wait and then load up on goodies for next years decorating!
I had hoped to get some sunny pics but alas we've been having some very cloudy days.
Loving my Christmas pillows! I've had them for many Christmas moons.
Snowy men of course!
It may be cloudy but there is a beautiful wintry view right outside my window to enjoy!
Mr. Santa on top of my hutch keeping us company. Normally he sits on my fireplace hearth but little Addison can't keep her sweet little fingers off of his beard.
She calls all Santa's ho-ho's, it's too cute! She tells them goodnight before bed.
A view above for good measure.
Thanks for stopping by.
I am fashionably late joining some fun Christmas blog parties.

ReplyDeleteYour dishes are beautiful and I love your centerpiece with the knitted ornaments! Wish I could do that! And your pillows...the one with the snowmen is adorable!! It sounds like little Addison is truly enjoying the holidays!
Stay warm...it's 27 degrees here now and I have to go get my oil changed...brrrr!
XO,

Everything is so pretty and festive.
ReplyDeleteThe snow I got up to yesterday is gone - thank goodness. Now it needs to warm up.
I love those hand knitted ornaments! What a special touch to your beautiful table. I'm a little jealous of the beautiful snow outside your window...although we did see a few flakes flying through the air yesterday! And that is an unusual sight in the south, so we take what we can get! Thanks for sharing your beautiful table. Hope you have a Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteCindy, I love the designs on the knitted ornaments. My maternal grandfather was Swedish and I tend to be drawn to designs that are Norwegian.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I too love plaid and around Christmas I love having it around. Your tablecloth looks like something I would choose.
I have been enjoying your snow pictures! I can only dream of snow (except when we head to the mountains) here so I enjoy looking at it in other people's pictures.
Hugs! Eileen
I love your bird table, Cindy. It is beautiful! I also love the snowy backdrop.:-)
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas decor looks beautiful. Those knitted ornaments are soo cute.
ReplyDeleteThis is my kind of table! I have the matching beverage coolers to your wine goblets!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful job!
Hi darling, your snowy backdrop is the perfect setting for your darling table. I adore your centerpiece! It is so unique and different. Love it... hugs ~lynne~
ReplyDeleteWell I'm not a fan of winter, but it sure is pretty looking out your window. We haven't had any snow that sticks yet. We had a couple of hours of steady snowfall a few days ago, but it was still too warm and wet to stay.
ReplyDeleteYour table looks wonderful. I love the ornaments in their sweaters! You have your Santa up high to protect him from little fingers...I'm having to put everything up high to protect things from sharp puppy teeth!
Beautifully festive table Cindy...Amazing how you can make something from the dollar store and Walmart look like a million bucks....My fave, though, are those darling Norski ornaments...so cute in their sweaters!!! Thanks for sharing! Smiles & Snowy Hugs ~ Robin
ReplyDeleteHi sweet friend...
ReplyDeleteOhhh...your Christmas table is sooo beautiful and sooo perfect, dear friend! I love the sweet knitted ornaments that your MIL made! You know, Russell has Swedish heritage and my dad is Swedish...so I decided to do a Swedish Christmas in my dining room this year. I'll be posting on it soon. But...your ornaments would look great at my place! Hehe! I love how you fashioned them in a pretty basket with pine cones and berries...sooo pretty! It makes a lovely table centerpiece! Love your pretty place settings too! Ohhh my goodness...and what a beautiful "winter wonderland" scene....just beyond the table through the window! It's picture perfect, Cindy!
Love your big ol' Santa! I can just imagine that your little Addison is in love with him! Hehe! He looks great sitting atop your cabinet though! I sooo enjoyed your beautiful Christmas table, dear friend...thank you for sharing it with us!
Well, it won't be long till Christmas is here. I'm sure that you have been busy with all the preparations. Will your son and family get to come home for the holiday? Russell is taking me to Texas so that I can spend it with my girls and grands! It will be the first time in a very long time that we will all be together for Christmas. I'm soooo excited!!! Sooo..now I am busy preparing! Gifts, baking, and all the extras! hehe! Well Sweetie, just wanted to come by to say hello and see how you are doing! Tell Dan that I said hello! Bet he's looking forward to his Christmas break!
Love ya, sweet friend!
Chari
Most definitely looking like a winter wonderland! I love the decorating--and the knitted ornaments are something I haven't seen before--very special!
ReplyDeleteLovely tablescape, Cindy! kind regards catherine
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful everything is. I'm loving your MIL's swetered ornies, too beatiful and what a treasure to have! Your table is great, I love all your dishes and the chargers are awesome. Lovely. Thanks for dropping by me and for the lovely and generous comments you left me. Merry Christmas. FABBY
ReplyDeleteI'll bet Addison is really enjoying Christmas this year, Cindy. My granddaughter is 16 1/2 months now, so I think next year she will be more into it. Right now she wants to play with my nativity and take whatever unbreakable ornaments are on the lower part of my tree off! : ) Everything looks so pretty at your place and you can't beat nature's view for this time of year. Although I'm not in love with lots of snow, we had some flurries this afternoon that was nice to see.
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy, I too like the Christmas plaids. Love your white dining set. I should paint mine! The cardinal plates are adorable. The centerpiece is great and the highlight of the centerpiece are the "Norske" ornaments. She is quite talented. Perhaps she could make a Norske knit sweater for Addison and Calista. Now that would be adorable! I did begin a new job last week. I struggled with my decision. Will see how things go! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteBeth
Goodness! You do have a lot of snow over there!!! We've got nada over here! My header pix was taken last year on Christmas day.
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy! What a lovely table and I love those little knitted balls. I've never seen anything like those before. Love everything you've set on your snowy table! :)
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,

ReplyDeleteBeautiful table, love the Santa up on the hutch (even if it was not the intended place). The view out the window looks like a post card.

ReplyDeleteYour Christmas decorations put a smile on my face.
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy! LOVING the Christmas Plaids! They are so cheery there with your white dining set. The jingle bell napkin rings are precious! What a cute story about your granddaughter calling Santa HoHo. :) Don't they just reignite Christmas time for us? God love them! Thanks so much for dropping by and placing a bid on one of the items on my Christmas Auction. That's SO kind of you! I'll keep you posted if anyone places another bid higher on the same item. :) I'd love to have you get the little heart dish. It's a Wedgewood Collectible. Spread the word about the Christmas Auction to anyone you know...I can't wait to see how things finish with it. :) Hugs friend! PS: I LOVE YOUR SNOW in the background of the pics! xoxo
ReplyDeleteCindy, this table is a delight. I love those ruffly edges on the chargers. I missed those at Wal Mart. Wonder if they still have them. Your plaid tablecloth is wintertime perfection, and it is wonderful that you have such special creations from your m-i-l Oh my goodness, that snowy scene outside your window adds so much to the ambiance of this table. It all looks so festive and inviting. laurie
