Outdoor Wednesday/Deer Frolicking in the Snow!
This short little video clip (very short) was taken with our digital camera and through our living room picture window. (If you want to make it bigger, press ctrl and scroll mouse away from you) Had we had stepped outside, they would have scattered. For a $5.00 bag of corn, we have cheap and fun enertainment. Hey it's winter in Wisconsin, we have to get creative!!! You can hear us in the background counting deer, like I said it's winter in Wisconsin. Just trying to keep our sanity during these long winter months! Do you have anything special you use to combat cabin fever? Just don't tell me a week in Mexico, although that would work. Please join our hostess Susan @ A Southern Daydreamer, for more Outdoor Wednesday Posts.
Cindy
Oh no.... I was just getting ready to offer you a week in Mexico!! 'Course your husband may draw the line at walking through fields of honeydew and papaya, but lunch on the beach isn't all that bad.
ReplyDeleteYour video is wonderful!

Ok, I'll send you five bucks if you post another one! That was soooooo cool. YAY!
ReplyDeleteHugs! Karen
Bored? I could sit and watch them all day! I've already watched the video twice! LOL!
ReplyDeleteStay warm in that Wisconsin Winter!
Dawn
Here on the Ponderosa it just becomes a matter of survival when a storm hits for the cattle and us. We have to spend way too much time outside during harsh storms. I'm afraid we have a major winter ice storm moving in around noon tomorrow. There predicting up to three inches of ice and up to six inches of snow to follow. Ice always takes down the power lines along with beautiful trees. It's not unusual for us to go over a week without power here on the Ponderosa. I hope the weatherman is lying!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day entertaining yourselves!!!
Such a great post! I hope we see some deer along the countryside this weekend when we head home.
ReplyDeleteOk Cindy, you said you loved the view from our cottage on the sea in Maine-want a week there? NOW?? I don't think so! But here in California, despite the rain, it is warm enough and gentle enough for the grape hyacinths, freesias, scented pelargoniums, and seedlings to be happy. Even the hummers are fine. (See them through my window on my newest blog post).
ReplyDeleteI loved watching the deer. Thank you,

P.S. WOW, facelift is wonderful.
and you daughter Katie Rose is beyond beautiful. Her name suits her perfetly.

Cindy, what a neat way to combat cabin fever. They are so graceful and pretty-especially with that beautiful snow as a background. Were there really 14 of them? How cool is that? I really enjoyed the video. laurie
ReplyDeleteWe had sunshine today! I couldn't believe it! I had the front door open (it is glass, I know that the heat was escaping) just to let more light into the house. Of course we still have snow on the ground and it is cold, but SUN!!!
ReplyDeleteThe deer must be gorgeous to watch.
Sue
Cindy...great video...but I'm glad you have the snow...not us...they say we might get a light snow later this week...it has been beautiful here this week
ReplyDeleteHow neat, Cindy!! They looks so pretty in the snow. It sure doesn't look like it was taken through a window! Great job. Staying warm?? Brrrrr!!

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your video. :-) More entertainment than I get if I look out my window this time of year. Stay warm!

Hi Cindy, I just can't imagine having deer in the backyard. The most exotic animal I've found in the backyard is a family of possums.
ReplyDeleteLoved your photos of your daughter skating through the years.
Have a great day, Bonnie
I would be very happy to live in Wisconsin and count deer, you lucky girl! We hope to move to the Northwoods in the future. Can't believe there were 14 deer. You better go buy more corn!
ReplyDeleteYou count deer...I count birds! :)

I combat cabin fever by not going to our cabin. I lose my mind there after about 24 hours. I am a city girl and in our city there usually isn't snow.
ReplyDeleteAs long as I have the internet I am good. Not as cute as deer but it keeps me busy.
How wonderful, Cindy! Did I hear your DH say that there were 14 of them? Amazing! And...very deep snow!! Here in the South, cabin fever doesn't last too long. We get pretty days often enough to make it easier. I scrolled down to catch up...love your mantel! And the hoar frost is sooo pretty! Sorry to be so far behind. My new grandbaby will be here in 3 weeks and I'm busy making curtains and burp cloths!! lol Happy week!...hugs...Debbie
ReplyDeleteSuch fun.
ReplyDeleteSo cool that you attract them to your yard with corn.
That was so much fun to watch! Occasionally I find deer "gifts" and my flowers lopped off during the summer or hear the hooves in the cul de sac at night. Love the beauty of deer.
ReplyDeleteFirst.....look at all that snow, would you? BRRRRRR. And to have this taken from your own window...well, you just live right!!!
ReplyDeleteMy Wednesday post..."Alligators in the Sewer?" is published...come see if you have a bit of time today. I'd love your visit.
HERE
I loved seeing this video. We have alot of deer too, but they are much smaller. They are so beautiful and with the snow falling this looks just like a postcard! Happy OW. Kathy
ReplyDeleteI know others say they are pests eating the gardens but I think they are one of the most beautiful creatures around these parts. How wonderful for you to be able to see them come in and feed in your yard! A gorgeous little clip that I have watched several times already - thank you for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteI love your creativity!

Well Cindy there went our trip to Mexico ha ha!! Girl this is just like looking outside in my yard right now...The midnight gardeners steal from me every day and empty my bird feeders and we also give them salt lick and corn...Fun video girl..Hope your having a great day my friend...Hugs and smiles Gl?ria
ReplyDeleteIt is almost like being in heaven watching deer.
ReplyDeleteJoyce M
Cindy, this is just wonderful! I thorougly enjoyed seeing your video! :-)
ReplyDeleteI combat cabin fever by reading. I love to read, and I will pile up in the bed with good books and read till my eyes go blurry. LOL!
But those deer... GORGEOUS! And the snow is lovely.
XO,
Sheila :-)
P.S. Almost forgot, I've been watching three naughty squirrels unbury all of their acorns and make a mess on the walk outside. They chatter and chatter at me through the window, too. Fussy little guys! LOL!
Wow...what a wonderful view from your window...beautiful snow and deer! Just lovely!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful video - they're so graceful. Spring can't arrive fast enough for me here in Michigan!
ReplyDeletexoxo...Kathy
Beautiful snow... those deer are amazing.
ReplyDeleteCindy, what fun it was to watch the deer dancing in the snow. Wisconsinites don't have to look far to find a way to entertain themselves during the winter....just look out the window.
ReplyDeleteI am familiar with your Karner Blue Butterfly Festival....there's even a princess.
I'm always looking for other WI bloggers and so it's been a pleasure to find you.

You might find a week here in the midwest fun. We are only expecting a light dusting of snow today and who knows about tomorrow it me 60. Great video I really enjoyed watching it.
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteLove the video. My dad feeds the deer (he lives next door)and we have 20 or more at a time going through our yard.
I'm so glad you got the package and are enjoying everything. I can't wait to see your table! Hugs
Hi, Cindy! The cake you asked about was made by Publix. They had that and the little mug of cocoa with the marshmallows on top. Both were really cute and reasonable! :-)
ReplyDeleteXO,
Sheila :-)
OK, all caught up on your blog..I have been without a computer for a few days..Spent the last 2 days, really! O tpo;f the tech I made 4 Apple pies while he worked on it..with just a little help from me...
ReplyDeleteBlogging gets me through the winter..and shopping!
But it is so cold and windy..but nothing like you have...I am going through my things remembering what I have. I am taking pics of everything!
Stay warm and safe, come see what I have bought lately...
