Blue Monday is sponsored smiling Sally at
http://smilingsally.blogspot.com/ . My Post today is a combo because they both share the color blue. Please check out the other Blue Mondays posts when your finished here. I love the color blue, in fact it's my favorite color! With that in mind, I wanted to share with you the dress my daughter wore for last years ice show.

This dress was made by a friend and fellow skating Mom who is also an awesome seamstress! My daughter would be skating her senior solo to Mitch Ryder's Devil with a Blue Dress. (Good Golly Miss Molly)(turn volume up here) The theme of our show was Skating to the Oldies. I was stumped to what she would wear, but I knew I needed to find an awesome blue glitter stretch velvet fabric. She's shown above with a student she coached.

This pic is a little blurry because she was moving on the ice, but it gives you an idea how pretty it was out on the ice.

I ordered the fabric from a place that sells Skating specialty fabrics and my awesome friend came up with this lovely design. She sketched it out on paper and then went to work putting it all together! See the cute little pitch fork skirt and the awesome belt she made out of red glitter stretch velvet. We loved how it turned out and the number was a big hit! And to top it off she gave this dress to my daughter as a gift for her Senior Solo! What an awesome friend and fellow skating Mom. Thank-you Roxie!!
My Met Monday Post starts out with a before pic of our bedroom. Met Monday is hosted by Susan, at
http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/ When your finished here head on over for some amazing Met Monday posts.

Before pic--beige painted walls, dark red drapes, small Master bedroom so we needed something lighter.

Another pic, we're getting ready to paint. We have some nice windows, however, because the room isn't that big we are limited on where we can place furniture.

The wall color becomes a pale icy blue. Bedding bought at TJ Maxx. My little toile lamp for only $10 also T J Maxx.

White batten berg style curtains from Wally world.

My Gone With the Wind Lamp bought on E-bay for only $35.00,

I already had the bed skirt and rug. Clearance items of course!

Another view of the bedding.

My hubby changed out the ugly overhead to this. I like the vintage look! Of course my mind is already racing ahead to Spring/Summer and some more changes I would like to make. On a budget of course! Thanks for stopping, Cindy
