Snakes,deer and cute girls!

Hi Everyone!
I have a cousin who lives in Tuscon, AZ.  Yesterday he went outside to hide Easter eggs for his young daughter to find.  But instead of hiding eggs, this is what he found curled up in his backyard gate.
A Western Diamondback about 4 ft. long.  Now  I would like to visit him next time I'm in Arizona but now maybe not so much.  Yikers!
Luckily he checked his yard well before sending his little daughter out for egg hunting.  Not something you would want your little girl to find on Easter morning.

The wildlife in my yard is a little less scary.  These three are showing up every morning and I love how that one is scratching himself like a dog would.   When they start eating my flowers I might not like them so much.

Our Easter was a quite one spent at my Mom's house.  Only one of my brothers was able to make it along with my immediate family minus my son Joshua and his wife Dawn.  They are expecting a baby girl in July and I am starting to get really excited!
Pictured above:  My daughter Katie and Addison both healthy now!

Another daughter/grand-daughter pic!  Katie will turn 21 on May 1st!  And as you can imagine she is very excited about this.  Seems like she was just the baby herself!
Well that's about it for me.  It's greening up nicely around here and things are shooting out of the ground.
We certainly have had a cold and yucky spring so far but yesterday was a beautiful day.
Take Care,
Cindy

Happy Easter Everyone!

Happy Easter my Dear Bloggy friends!

After a rather tough week with two sick girls, it's nice to start to get back to normal.
Little Addison getting her picture taken with the Easter Bunny this morning.  She wasn't about to smile, but she sure was fascinated by him.  I had to scan this in so it's a bit on the blurry side.

Making silly hat's with Grandpa!  And of course we have to try out the taste of newspaper.

And lot's of extra naps this week.

I hope you all have a joyous Easter and many blessings in your life.  I am so thankful for this little darling blessing!
I am still trying to get caught up on my visiting.  I've had the little darling all week while her Mommy got better and so I am quite behind.
Thanks for being patient with me.

Happy Easter,
Cindy

Addison is improving!

I want to thank-you, thank-you, thank-you all from the bottom of my heart for all the prayer's and well wishes sent our way.
Addison is improving.  It has been a scary week but yesterday she showed signs of getting better.
Less trouble breathing and her temp has been going down and not spiking quite so much.
We have been back and forth to the hospital 5 times.  They have her on an inhaler and predisone plus the usual Tylenol etc.  No antibiotics since it's a virus however they have done a couple of chest x-rays to make sure pneumonia was not setting in.
And now of course her Mommy is sick too.  Not as bad of course, more like a really bad cold for my daughter.  I have learned a couple of things though.  If any of you have infants and they are showing signs of a cold don't let your Dr. give them their shots.  Wait until the cold is gone.  Addison's Dr. thought her runny nose and cough was just from teething.  He now states that the shot's plus the RSV just overwhelmed her immune system.   You would think Dr.'s would know better and have the babies wait until they were totally healthy for shots.  The shots they get today are just loaded with so many different things.  I think Addison had like a total of 4 different shots last Tuesday.
Again I want to thank-you all for the prayers!
You are the most caring community of friends!
And I will be around to visit each and every one of you sometime this next week.
Hugs to you all,
Cindy

A little prayer for Addison.

Could you please say a prayer for my granddaughter Addison?
She was admitted into the hospital this morning with RSV.
She just had a minor cold and cough when my daughter took her up to have her 6 month check-up and shots.
That was on Tuesday.  We had her up to the hospital Tuesday night and they thought she would be fine with just a little bit of Tylenol and fluids.
Well last evening my hubby and I were babysitting and she was getting worse.
We took her to the hospital where they ran lot's of nasty tests on her.  Poor baby, I cried right along with her.
My daughter took her home with a nebulizer and Tylenol suppositories.

This morning she was getting worse and her breathing was so labored.  Katie and I rushed her to ER and they admitted her.  I just left there a bit ago and will go back after a shower.  They were able to get her temp down and her breathing a bit more normal and she finally fell asleep.  This has been so scary.  She has always been very healthy and I was irked that they gave her shots when she was a bit ill.
This morning the Dr. who gave her the shots said that with the RSV and the shots affecting her immune system is probably what is making her so ill.
I am sorry I haven't been around much but I will keep you updated.
Thanks,
Cindy

Some projects that hubby's students built!

Hey everyone!
I thought you might like to see a few of the projects my hubbies students have recently completed.
Dan teaches woodworking I and II plus Building Construction and Entrepreneurship.

I am very impressed by this beautiful table!  This young man is a junior and this is his Woods II project.
The students also design their own projects.  They rough sketch, then a final sketch....my hubby proofs of course and helps them with any mistakes.   Then they create a working drawing to scale, plus a steps to procedure and finally a bill of materials that they will need.
This beautiful table cost $230.00 to make and it was built using Red Oak.

This young man is also a junior and he also created this beautiful hutch in Woodworking II.  His Mom was so thrilled with it that she sent my hubby the nicest thank-you note
The total cost of the hutch was $280.00 and it is made out of Cherry.
Anyhoo, I am very proud of my talented hubby!
He is the most amazing teacher and he is also incredibly patient!
And we are finally getting spring here in Wisconsin.
Boy it's been a long time coming.
The snow has finally melted and we are supposed to hit 70 degrees today and 81 tomorrow with a chance of nasty storms.
Next week we are back in the 50's and 60's. however I am not complaining as that is about where we should be for this time of year.

Take Care and have a wonderful weekend too!

Favorite Cupboard Party with Sheila!

I am joining the lovely Sheila (Note Songs) for her Heart of the HomeFavorite Cupboard party.
Be sure the check out her lovely blog and the other participants that are joining her today.

My favorite cupboard is actually an armoire.  And it's a very special armoire because it was designed and built by my talented hubby! If you would like to read more about that you can by clicking here.
At over 7 ft. tall it's a towering piece for this little nook right off of our kitchen.  Dan added lot's of shelves for my overflow dishes, decor and other miscellaneous items. I wanted a cottage look and the appearance of wainscoting and hubby delivered!

A little closer look at the finish he used for the front.

My other favorite cupboard is this old pie hutch.  I think I bought it like 30 years ago and only paid maybe $100 for it.  It's not perfect but it's charming and I have certainly gotten my money's worth.
If you look closely, you can see the litle holes on the side's of the hutch that were used way back in the olden days for cooling pies.

It serves to hold my china and glassware.  Every now and then I pull everything out and re-arrange.
I am way over-due for re-arranging but I think I have a very good little 17 lb. reason.

Little Addison turned 6 months old yesterday and I have been very busy helping her Mommy.
I am now a full time babysitting Grandma!
I might not have as clean of a home as before BA (before Addison) but I certainly have more joy!

Thanks for coming by and thanks to our lovely hostess Sheila!
Have a great week everyone and I just have to let you know that I am so envious of all you who have full blown spring.  I am wondering if our's will ever arrive!
