Top Ten Projects of 09/ Or I tried!

I'm late!  I'm late!   For a very important date!   Rhonda's Blog Party @ Southern Hospitality!

My projects are not as fancy or as skilled as my hubbie's but I do have a few to share!  I painted this old bench a cottage white and made a bench pad and pillows for it!  I kind of like how it turned out and hubby only had to touch up in a few spots!

I tried my hand at decoupage and had fun making some plates to hang here, and other's to give away!

With $5.00 in  Dollar Store supplies, and some burned thumbs I learned how to make this shell wreath.

I tried my hand at flower arranging and flower growing and took them to the Country Fair!  I got a red...

  and a Blue!

When I didn't want to pay 16.00 for four new napkin rings, I decided to make some myself, from  toilet paper rolls and ribbon!

I learned to fetch apples as fast as I can................

And not to worry about the rest!!!

For the heck of it, I planted some ornamental cabbage and just loved going outside to look at them!

I took my old brass headboard purchased at a garage sale and painted in cottage white.

Painted the spare bedroom and used that headboard here!

When short on funds, I decided I would make my own tablerunners.........

And napkins for tablescapes!

I hope my itty bitty projects didn't bore you too much but I sure had fun making them and learning in the process!     I don't know about the rest of you but were in the deep freeze here, a major Artic Blast!  At 8:00 a.m. this morning it still was below zero and it looks like it will be here for awhile!  I am dreaming of warm beaches and exotic far away places!   STAY WARM!    Cindy

I am joining my dear friend Chari, @ Happy to Design for Sunday Favorites.  What a great way to finish up the year and look back fondly at Blog Posts, long forgotten.  My Blog was brand, spankin, new in January as I started my blog on January 2nd, 2009.  Today is my Blogs anniversary and I will be celebrating with a give-away in the next few weeks! I am still gathering some things for my giveaway, so please check back in about a week!  In January, I showed you the Antique Bed that I found garage sale-ing.  It needed some work but with a little help from hubby and a few coats of paint it became a bright, cheery ,addition to my daughters room.

In February, I joined Met. Monday again for a Mini Bathroom update. I am loving the Met. Mondays, they push me to get things finished!

In March, I hosted a Baby Shower for my Sister Susie.  What a fun time, and you offered some great tips and advise.

In April, I showed you the Hall Tree that hubby built for me!  He simply sketched it out on a napkin, using his shoe as a guide to measure while we browsed through an Amish Store one Saturday afternoon.

In May, I did a post about the Hickory Wood Floor that talented hubby laid in our living room.

Had a week-end away in Wisconsin Dells.

Celebrated Spring with a Porch Party!

In June, I blogged about the new Armoire that hubby built me!  I am a lucky gal!

In July, I wrote about our trip to North Carolina and ......

     South Carolina.   Oh, what fun!

In August, I showed you my old table made new, with a little paint job by that talented hubby of mine!  I also joined Cuisine Kathleen for Let There Be White Party!

I was so excited in September, to show you these Sandhill Cranes I spotted while out for an early morning drive.

And the Doors of Welcome Party, with my dear friend Karen @ Some Days are Diamonds.

The end of October, first of November was GRAND!   Hubby and I  flew out to Phoenix to visit my Son Josh, and DIL Dawn and I also was lucky enough to attend the Arizona Bloggers Tea Party!  And to my huge surprise, look who popped in, all the way from Southern California!  The lovely Karen, who has just been such a wonderful friend and inspiration to me!

And their was Linda, who I knew from our 4-H days and Laura from Decor to Adore.

Ceekay and Marty and many more wonderful ladies!

In December, I was fortunate again as Hubby and I traveled to Galena, Ill. to meet Jane (aka Blondie's Journal) and hubby Alan.  What a fun week-end we had and one I will never forget! We have plans to meet back up next summer, I can't wait!

Blogging has been such a wonderful experience for me!  Never in a million years did I imagine, that I would be meeting fellow bloggers less than a year later.  The friendships are real, the comraderie that we all share is amazing!  Non-bloggers have a hard time understanding and I have a hard time explaining it to them but I always encourage them to give it a try!  My hubby has been so supportive and a great sport when I told him we were going to Galena!  He had a wonderful time!  I want to take a minute to thank all of you for your support.  All the kind and funny and amazing comments that you have left!  I love the e-mails too so here's to you, all my fellow bloggers and friends, thank-you for making this a great year!!!!!!
